Hotel ok apart from the view from our patio which was a wall with large metalwork structure on top not the beautiful view advertised. I wish I had taken photo but didn’t as I was so disappointed at the time. I have given feedback to hotel that this is a misrepresentation but they just said thank you for your feedback.

False advertising of view

Upgraded to a suite with a balcony. Two balcony tiles were not installed and moved when stepped on. We notified reception, who advised they were already aware. The room and set up shown is not accurate. The ad reflects the bed in a room with great water views, which is actually a sitting room in the suite we received. Our bedroom was a view on on one side and overlooking other rooms and hotel exterior walls on the other. Very expensive quite upgrade, not worth the cost for the lack of view or overall. It is convenient, directly located at the train station.

Wonderful hotel with amazing location right next to train stop. When we arrived we were offered a bigger room since we were 4 people. It was a 2 bedroom apartment with full kitchen and living area and balcony with a beautiful view. All windows were noise proof so we would never even notice there was a train line nearby. Their breakfast buffet was very complete with a huge variety of both cold and hot choices. Staff was very nice and efficient and bed were very comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Very convenient hotel beside the train station

Nice modern hotel. It’s directly beside the train station. So if you exit from the right train door, the hotel entrance is directly in front of you. The view from the room was nice too. Staff was friendly.

Wonderful Stay – Clean, Convenient, and Comfortable We had a fantastic stay at this property! The place is very clean and well-maintained, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It’s also conveniently located with easy access to everything we needed during our trip. One of the highlights was the daily housekeeping—the staff did an excellent job tidying up, and it was such a pleasure to return to a fresh and neat space after our long days exploring the beauty and adventure Switzerland has to offer. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!

I did not enjoy my stay in essential by dorint interlaken. Our children's room aircon was not working our whole stay and when we complained, they gave us an electric fan. Also, our own room has ac but it was not cold at all. The only good about this hotel is the train stops right outside the hotel so its very convenient.

Good location, right next to interlaken west station with grocery store near by. Walkable distance to the town centre and even the ost (just half hour, it’s only a few minuets by bus/ train) New hotel, clean and comfortable bedding! I had good sleep during the stay:) it’s quite in the night time! The apartment we had chosen has windows and balcony! Fresh air:)) Superb staff! Very helpful and friendly! Overall: I like this place and would stay again if I re-visit this place!

Hotel is conveniently located inside the Interlaken West train station! Our room was located right next to the tracks but we could barely hear trains go by! We were so impressed with their soundproofing system! Hotel breakfast was great too! We also enjoyed the river view beyond the train tracks that you can see through a wall sized window! They also provide a free local transportation pass that you can use for buses, trains, etc. I highly recommend this hotel!

Really great location and friendly staff. We chose to pay at the property but the hotel charged us before arrival instead of the normal process of paying at check-in or check-out with no real explanation as to why. The second big problem is that the rooms are so hot. You can’t get a good sleep even with the window open (outside air temperature was below 10 degrees C) and with the fan (which they gave us to fix the problem) on full blast all night, the temperature in the room was 24 degrees C. Given that we stayed in springtime and the daytime is warm there was no need to heat the rooms. The AC in the rooms didn’t work and although it was meant to bring the temperature down to 18 (that was the minimum possible) it didn’t bring it below 26 degrees at night without the window open. The location and comfort of the beds were great. The staff were as helpful as possible but could not fix the problem. This will be a bigger problem in summer. The problem was in many rooms as we heard several guests ask about the same issue.

This is a new property that just opened a year ago. The building and furnishings are new so it’s very clean and modern. With it being new, there are a few things that I feel need improved. The owner on Google acknowledges along with staff the issues but unfortunately nothing has changed as of this review. The first - be very clear on your price and what room you reserve through Expedia. I had the pay at property option and after charging me the agreed upon rate coupled with a deposit, on checkout tried to claim I owed double that. Just make sure you are clear on pricing up front. Secondly, the Suites are nice, but there is no views, you’ll be in a center hive of the building with doors that open up just to see everyone else. Fortunately they have a privacy screen, but if you’re wanting a view, don’t book these, they’re not worth the price. The Interlaken West SBB train station is literally outside the building so that’s a bonus! All-in-all, I’d suggest maybe looking at more traditional hotels unless you’re just on business and do not care, just watch the charges and what room you expect/get.
