The staff did not seem super attentive, but the room was clean and comfortable. There seemed to be some construction happening so there was some clutter. Breakfast the first day there was no coffee, and no staff at the desk to inform about it. By the time we left for the day the coffee had been refilled so we were able to make a cup to go. Overall not bad for the value.

The Hotel was a ghost hotel...so big and so alone. the pictures that entice me were a big deception. Actually, I think they should close it. Looks like at one time it was beautiful, but Not Any More. I do NOT RECOMEND it to anyone

This hotel was old dirty and mismanaged. The carpets were very old stained and dirty with not only ground in dirt but with debris on the carpet. There was no thermostat in the room so no way of controlling the air conditioner and it was freezing in the room. We asked a very indifferent front desk person to sign us a different room and she did however it was not much of an improvement but there was a thermostat. The staff spent most of their time outside smoking. It was difficult to find staff. The breakfast items offered were scarce and not replenished. If not for it being the only hotel available in International Falls we would have insisted on our payment being returned and moved on. Most of the hotel is not open for business and the ceiling is leaking so there are pails sitting in the halls to catch water. The maintenance man had a permanent spot in front of the TV.

In NO WAY was this worth the amount we paid. Most of the building's rooms were condemned! The pool access is welded shut. The guy at the desk had to be called to drive over to check us in. The rooms were nasty. The hallway lights weren't working. An all around mess! The front desk woman the next day was nice, and she was the only reason I would give the staff 1 star. But the reservation was supposed to be for 2 nights, but it was booked for one. To be honest, we were VERY happy to leave after that first night.

The property seemed to be in a state of disrepair. Broken tiles in the entry, no thermostats to control the room temp which they finally removed the cover so we could turn it off. The hall carpets were dirty however the room, bedding and sheets and bathroom were very clean. I could recommend this hotel.

Very interesting place to stay, loved the room and service but not kept up well. The pool was shut down and the grass was a little overgrown. The building looked like it was falling apart but it did its job for the night.

Dark hallways, dirty and very old carpet. No elevators for seniors. Air conditioner ran constantly and never cooled. Woke up in sweat one day, Room refrigerator was warm and the freezer tray was filled with lukewarm water, Stairway fire door on 2nd floor would not close completely. Safety door #4 was constantly kept open with an area rug invalidating its safety role. Only one operating ice machine for such a large property. Outdoors the grass was a month past due for cutting and the potholes were a part of the hotel's ambiance. This hotel is old and run down to a point of just not feeling safe. Amenities: None. Pros: Clean bathroom and bed. Never again.

This place feels very run down, like it might have been decent years ago, but has been long neglected. Looked like half the place was blocked off from access. There was no hot water (which we were not informed of at the time of check-in). The supposed continental breakfast that they advertise was non-existent. We checked out after the first night and went somewhere else.
