Don’t Book Here

Arrived for a 4 night stay. Host was not responsive to messages. Had to contact VBRO to contact him for access code. Once we received that, there was no key. It was late, had to wait on Host. He dropped off key and left us. We entered the rental to find it a mess and discovered it was still occupied. Host apologized and said it was a mix up. That it would be available for the rest of our stay. VBRO & Host did not assist in finding accommodations. We booked months in advance because of the events taking place during our visit. We finally found two rooms for 5 people (slept 4), had to sleep on the floor. Advised late the next day our rental wasn’t available at all. We had VBRO & Travel Scotland looking for lodging. VBRO had one property (we sent them) available but wouldn’t book it for us. Their service, call back & assistance was unacceptable. We were able to rebook the accommodations another night (sleeping on the floor). Then booked the next two nights 1-1/2 hours away. Had to drive 3 hours daily to make pre-booked tours. And lost a complete day of our vacation. Plus the stress it add and completely ruin or trip. So between this irresponsible Host & VBRO I would book here.

The apartment was modern and close to downtown. (It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the city center.) The two bedrooms were good sizes. It’s in desperate need of a deep cleaning and regular upkeep. The refrigerator and oven were both quite dirty, and it looks like from the crumbs underneath that the little microwave on the counter isn’t moved during cleanings. The kitchen cabinets and baseboards in the apartment need to be cleaned.
