This property is absolutely beautiful, the rooms, design, and overall vibe are exactly what you’d hope for in Holbox. Unfortunately, the noise situation is a major issue.
There is a bar directly across the street that creates extremely loud noise every night. The bar itself usually quiets down around midnight, but the yelling, music spillover, and people lingering outside continue well into the early morning hours, often until 3:00 a.m. On top of that, there was loud domestic noise around 3 a.m. as well, making sleep nearly impossible.
If you come prepared with very good earplugs, you might still enjoy your stay, because the hotel itself is lovely. But without them, the noise between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. is truly unsleepable and completely overshadows the experience.
I would only recommend this hotel to very heavy sleepers or anyone planning to bring serious ear protection. Otherwise, the lack of nighttime quiet is a big downside to an otherwise gorgeous property.
