Mountain General is a spacious 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom retreat designed for families and friends seeking both adventure and relaxation in the heart of Island Park. After a day exploring Yellowstone, fishing at Henry’s Lake, or riding through snowmobile trails, unwind in the private hot tub or challenge your group to a game of foosball or air hockey. End the evening by the fire pit beneath the stars or gather inside by the cozy fireplace to plan the next day’s adventures.
The fully equipped kitchen features everything you need for home-cooked meals, including a drip coffee maker, crockpot, blender, rice maker, waffle maker, and air fryer. A washer and dryer, dishwasher, and free WiFi make longer stays comfortable and convenient, while each bedroom includes charging pads for your devices.
Located about 40 minutes from the Yellowstone West Entrance, Mountain General offers easy access to local attractions — 25 minutes to Henry’s Lake, 15 minutes to Island Park Reservoir, and just 10 minutes to Sam Patch grocery store. Guests flying in can reach the home from Idaho Falls Regional (1.5 hours), Bozeman Yellowstone International (2 hours), or Jackson Hole Airport (2.25 hours).
Guests can enjoy self check-in and take advantage of the outdoor amenities, including a propane grill, BBQ pit, fire pit, outdoor seating, and a large driveway with plenty of parking space.
Sleeping arrangements include four comfortable bedrooms across multiple levels with king, queen, and bunk bed options to accommodate up to 16 guests.
In winter, four-wheel drive, snow tires, and high ground clearance are recommended.
Well-trained, housebroken pets are welcome. Dogs only. Must be over 18 months old and vaccinated. Dogs may not be left alone unless crated; a crate is provided. $35 per dog, per night. No cats due to the owner’s severe allergies. Breeds with a bite history are not permitted due to insurance policy. When booking, please message with your dog’s age, vaccination status, and breed.
Please note that baby gates are not provided and may not be pressure-mounted due to tongue-and-groove wall damage.
NOTE: Government ID required when signing the rental agreement. Primary renter must be 25 or older and remain on-site during the reservation term.
