I highly recommend staying at the Dersaadet Hotel. It offers an incredibly convenient location just behind the Blue Mosque, along with charming rooms that transport you back in time while remaining spotless and fully functional. On top of that, it has one of the friendliest receptions I’ve ever experienced in any hotel. Staying there felt a bit like visiting enthusiastic distant relatives: I was welcomed with hot tea and a Turkish delight on a very cold and snowy day, which alone made my day. A small welcome gift in the room was also a nice touch. I didn’t ask, but it felt like a family-run business—everyone working at the hotel was warm and friendly, both with guests and with each other, creating a genuinely positive atmosphere. All of this was topped off the next morning by a truly delicious Turkish breakfast on the rooftop. I would definitely not hesitate to return the next time I’m in Istanbul.

The staff was very nice and had delicious apple tea upon my arrival. They were very accommodating and even coordinated my airport pickup and drop off. I was surprised to find a personal note and a small souvenir when i entered my hotel room. The hotel was also walking distance to the hagia sophia and Blue Mosque. I really felt at home. Hands down the best hotel that we stayed at during our three weeks traveling the country of Turkey. The front desk staff immediately made us feel welcome, preparing tea and treats for us during check in, bringing our bags to the room and even a small gift inside. The room was spacious and my daughter LOVED the traditional Turkish Bath. She didn't want to leave. The rooftop dining was breathtaking at breakfast. The breakfasts were amazing and this was the ONLY place that had a milk alternative for breakfast *hands up!*. It was a 5 star stay - high class service beginning to end. They catered to our two year old and made her stay an entire experience. She got to feed bread to the birds, have her own tea cup, and was spoiled. They also arranged a shuttle to the airport. It's walking distance to all the major sites - two blocks away and actually quiet/private for sleeping. Everything was absolutely perfect. We highly recommend staying here and will send our friends from Canada!

Felt like visiting a Turkish grandma — warm, cozy, and full of charm This hotel stole my heart! It felt less like a hotel and more like visiting a sweet Turkish grandmother. The atmosphere was cozy, warm, and welcoming. The room was small, yes — but it had everything I needed, and I truly enjoyed staying there. There’s a lovely rooftop with a great breakfast and a beautiful view to start the day. Out of the five hotels I stayed at in Istanbul, this one was by far my favorite. Not the fanciest, but definitely the most charming.
