Overall, it's a very nice hotel near the beach. The staff were all friendly and super helpful. The authentic, local breakfast choices were good, and the hotel was clean and well-maintained. The noise from the pool can be noisy during the day and early evening, but things normally quieted down between 7:00-8:00 pm.
Some things that could be improved include adding full-length mirrors in each room, an iron and ironing board, a broom to go along with the dust pan, and dishwasher tabs for use with the dishwasher.
My only negative is the location. There's no beauty surrounding this hotel. In fact, the area is a little grimy-looking. So, if you want a hotel surrounded by scenic views or only 2-3 blocks from the beach, this isn't the place for you. Despite that, we never felt unsafe walking around. Also, there really isn't anything to do within walking distance other than walk about 5-10 minutes to the main strip, which is essentially a tourist trap of restaurants, souvenir shops, and bars. If we hadn't gone on tours every day, there wouldn't have been anything to do but hang out in our room or at the pool. But, we're not surfers, bar hoppers, or people who want to be at the beach nonstop. If I were ever to return to Jaco, I'd stay here again. But if I ever return to Costa Rica, I'd probably stay in San Jose where there are more family-friendly and walkable activities and just take transportation to any desired activities in or near Jaco.
