The hotel location is pretty good. For my week's stay though, the water in the shower was lukewarm, every day, in very cold weather. The breakfast is poor quality, no variety, mouldy bread. On checking in, I was charged extra per day for a safe I wasn't going to use, and I had to argue that it wasn't a cost I was prepared to pay, I hadn't been told upfront. Room cleaning was good, but doing it at 9am some days was really annoying. Reception staff pretty glum, and not friendly.

I arrived to check in at 1:15 p.m. They told me that check-in started at 2 p.m., but that for $35 they could check me in 45 minutes early. I believe that if the room is already available, offering that courtesy without charging would be reasonable. On the contrary, they made it very clear that checkout was strictly at 11 a.m. with no possibility of extension.

Overall an okay experience! A big plus was the shuttle service to NYC but be prepared to use the cheaper one which is about 8 minutes up the road and a 15 minute walk back. The front desk was very good in explaining the details and where to go. On the not so bright side, we did find a roach in our bathroom. But the room was pretty nice. Not bad for wanting an affordable trip close to the big apple!
