bei meiner ankunft hatte das hotel weder strom noch fliessend wasser. somit ging auch der lift nicht und das düster dunkle treppenhaus präsentierte sich in dunkelstem schwarz. das hiess für mich, 2x ab in den 7ten stock, im dunkeln und zwar zu fuss mit 23 kilo gepäck und weiteren 19 kilo zusatzgepäck (sportequipment). hilfe durchs hotelpersonal gab es keine, auch nicht auf anfrage. nicht mal taschenlampenbegleitung war drin. warum auch.... der staff bevorzugte, lieber draussen eine tüte durchzuziehn und sich unter seinesgleichen der verantwortung zu entziehn. das zimmer war dann zwar grossräumig, stylish im art deco und shabby chic stil gehalten und das bett angenehm hart. allerdings war der staubsauger wohl nur dafür gedacht, die am häufigsten genutzten flächen zu säubern. während meines drei tägigen aufenthaltes wurde weder das bett mal gemacht noch das eine und zugleich einzige frottiertuch je gewechselt. wäre ja alles noch irgendwie ok gewesen.... nur dass mein zimmer weder vorhänge noch fensterläden hatte... wh..th.. fu... bei sonnenaufgang, das heisst etwas nach 5 uhr morgens, fing die sonne an mich im bett zu grillen. nicht nur die helligkeit liess mich nicht mehr schlafen, sondern vorallem die astronomische hitze. fazit: stay away from maboneng und dem 12 decades. maboneng ist schlimmstens overrated... ein trauriger versuch jo burg für junge und junggebliebene touris schön zu reden. jo burg bietet definitiv was, nur gehört maboneng definitiv nicht dazu!
