Superb Hotel

An excellent hotel, with great staff. There was a restaurant, bar and pool on site. The Gautrain station was a 5min walk away - and there was a shopping centre and plenty of bars and restaurants very close by.

Excellent value for money. A nice restaurant on site and breakfast offered at a discount rate if we agree on check-in. Unlike the neighboring City Lodge, the Protea Hotel in Hatfield offers you free access to Zone Fitness located in the mall across the street -- for a gym-goer this is an amazing bonus. The rooms are clean and comfortable with free fast-speed wifi. Uber makes everything easily accessible but if you like to walk, the neighborhood is walker friendly.

Business hotel

It is a convenient hotel for visiting the University of Pretoria. They also have small conference/workshop facilities. The rooms are well equipped with comfortable beds. It is a large hotel, so breakfast and dinner times are busy at the restaurant. The buffet selection for both meals is good. Gym is available across the road in the shopping mall. Pool is not really a proper one- it is a tiny dip pool, no swimming is possible and it is also not heated. Staff is friendly. Overall, it was a good stay.

This hotel is in a student location with loud music surrounding at night; and could get very noisy; there was a lot of shouting and banging of doors on the corridor in the floor level I was staying at about 3am-5am. The pool in the facility is also very small, not one you’ll be able to swim; no breakfast is provided at the listed Expedia price. There is no commensurate value for Money, as facility is relatively expensive with low value in return.
