Tranquility Lodge- Pet-Friendly

Located on the world famous Miramichi River with plenty of waterfront on a 5 acre lot. Built in 1970s as a fishing retreat by a lumber mill owner, it borders the immense forestry land holding by the Irving family. With little upstream industry (tree farm) waters are pristine and provide healthy habitat for the annual Atlantic Salmon runs. A railroad runs next to home with schedule consisting of 4 daily runs. Nature abounds with colourful birdlife and occasional moose, deer, turkeys, ducks, etc.A great place for relaxing annd unwinding, it boasts ready access to some of the best off-road trails in Canada. You will definitely appreciate the spectacular night sky and plentiful wood supply for the fire pit. Enjoy seasonal hiking, biking, quading, foraging, snowmobiling, fishing, swimming & hunting. We provide a canoe, 2 inexpensive bicycles, water toys and washer toss game for guest use. We have a safe, modern wood stove and electric baseboard for heating and a portable AC unit for those warm days. Laundry can be provided for longer stays with drying on a clothesline. The screened porch offers a quiet place to drink your morning coffee and a convenient, dry place for smokers.

Dishwasher, board games, TV, Skylink internet and well equipped kitchen provided. Enjoy fresh ground coffee beans and some excellent quality well water.

Guests should be aware that out of province folks require a guide for fishing in the river but I can direct you to trout streams for your angling needs. We have some of the greatest off-road trails in the country accessible from the lodge. We can provide ideas for day trips and info on local foraging opportunities(in season).

This cottage offers its guests a garden. The front desk is open around the clock.

Smoking is allowed in designated areas at this Juniper cottage.
