We had an amazing stay at “99 Steps”. The condominium was perfect for our party of 5 adults and three children under 4 years of age. We cooked a number of meals in and used the resort BBQ. The first floor location with the lanai and grass was perfect for our grandchildren to run around outside while we drank coffee in the morning. We would absolutely stay here again.

The place was close to the perfect beach. The amenities were great, and the people who worked at the resort were extremely courteous and helpful. The apartment was spacious and clean. There were a couple of things that I sent emails about and never got a response from the property managers. (For example, the lights in one bathroom did not work.) In the video it mentions that there is soap for the dishwasher and washing machine and if you run out you will need to get it yourself. No problem there, except there was basically four dishwasher soap pouches (enough for four days and we were there for six days). So this meant that we had to go buy some. There was barely any washing machine detergent, so again for a six night stay, we had to purchase soap. I do not know, maybe it is just me, but for a beautiful place that I paid over 12,000 for six days, it is kind of tacky to not have at least enough soap for a week. Other than that, we loved our stay and would totally stay in the same resort again. Thank you!

Well managed property steps from the ocean

I love a well managed vrbo! We had a seamless and very relaxing stay. Fresh free towels whenever we wanted at little kiosks open 24/7. The outside patio is nearly completely private because it’s next to a path that is barely taken and there are bushes in-between. This unit is the 2nd closest to the ocean, which is actually the best location (the other is by a busy path and noisy pool are). I counted 4 hot tubs on property, might have been more. The snorkeling a little further down (5 min walk) by the Westin is imo the best on the island. You can continuously swim and snorkel for over an hr and see coral and many varietals of fish. The house is well stocked with pots, pans, spices, olive oil, dishwashing fluid, laundry detergent, soaps, and shampoo/conditioner. Only one small issue and without exaggeration from phone call in the evening to someone showing up with a toolbelt was under 15 min. There’s even a damage waiver policy that covers any damage up to 3,000. We’ll def be coming back.

Beautiful Villa & Location

The villa is so spacious and beautiful and the location is wonderful. Steps to the ocean and you can walk to the grocery store, food trucks and several restaurants. Pools are great too. House amenities are plentiful to include beach chairs and umbrella. Our family of 8 adults had plenty of room.

Absolutely perfect stay

Our group of 3 adults and 3 children loved our stay in this apartment. The location is absolutely stunning, as is the space itself. The ground floor was perfect for our 1.5 year olds - and a wonderful compromise, with a spectacular view, easy accessibility, and no hassle of a balcony. The underground parking onsite made it easy to take day trips to other parts of the island. We could have spent all our time at Honua Kai though! The pools, beach, dining were all outstanding.

Beautiful location and property

Had a wonderful stay at this condo. Very comfortable for our family of 4 and 4 grandparents. Can’t beat location and amenities at Honua Kai! Had some trouble with entry codes and didn't have a pool towel code for first 5 days, however was able to just ask attendant for towels when they were restocking.

Upon arrival, we opened the sofa bed and found the sheets full of sand. We called property management and were told there were extra sheets in the closet and to use those. We also discovered that the internet was not working. A cable was placed the next day. Had to kill quite a few roaches.

Maui Vacation

Property was as described. Great location, very short walk to the beach, easy access from parking lot or garage to condo. Rooms were more than accommodating for our group. Very short walking distance to food truck park, local grocery store that had more than enough, and other resorts for food or drink. Location was ideal for our need and would highly recommend. We loved our stay and would definitely consider staying again.

A Lovely Week in Paradise

Very nice condo, steps from the beach. We could run out there to catch the sunset. I loved the ground floor lanai too. There were lizards during the day, toads at night and huge snails when it rained. The kids loved it!

Spent 15 days on property - which our family thoroughly enjoyed. Super close to the beach (as advertised) and a great overall resort with a lot of good family friendly activities, specifically the pool. The unit itself has a handful of small current issues which we reported that if fixed will make it tip top, namely a stove where no buttons are visible to operate and a broken lanai cover in the main room that prevented us from opening the unit to the outside. With those said,the property manager was responsive to these issues during our stay and I bet they will be fixed asap.

Amazing, & easiest steps to the beach

This place was everything as advertised. I am always examining properties to see where we can stay for our next trip, & if we return to Maui, this condo is literally the best one! We used the patio door to walk in & out more than the main door. Grills were just around the corner. Such a quiet spot only right around the corner from the resort life & steps to two great restaurants, one at Duke’s & the other at the Westin next door. Our oldest son whited playing the ukelele that was in the room. The room was stocked with spices, dish & laundry detergent, trash bags, & even some condiments in the fridge. Those items really stood out to me compared to other places we’ve stayed. I tried to find last minute activities/tours that were close to the resort, but most near things were sold out, however tours that were about 40 minutes/ 1hour away were aplenty. Next time, I’ll get my tours booked sooner. Also, Duke’s restaurant on property said they are booked out weeks in advance, but welcome walkins. So we would go put our name on the list a good while (1.5 hr) before we wanted to eat dinner & they always accommodated us. Lovely stay!

Nothing short of amazing!

The location and convenience of this property is unmatched. Having two smaller children, we were able to easily access the pool, beach, and a large grassy area in minimal time and returning to the room was so simple. It was quiet but close to the action. Will absolutely return!

Absolutely wonderful!

The unit was just as described and was a perfect place for our family to enjoy a week’s vacation. The management company provided a high chair and portable crib for my grandson, which was very much appreciated. It was so nice to be able to walk out the unit in the back and be able to walk to the beach and along the boardwalk, and the views were fantastic from the patio.
