Floridians on a Maui Getaway

We are a family of 4, traveling for 8 days. The space is perfect for small families who want a condo rather than hotel room. The two pools, market, shops and an onsite restaurant are great. The food truck park next to the parking lot and easy walking distance, along with a local grocery store and strip mall across the street for pizza, ice cream, shaved ice, etc. We were also within a short walk of Papi's Ohana- the famous cinnamon roll and pizza joint everyone is talking about on social media. (Must try btw!) Our drive from the airport was not terrible, plan for 40 mins regardless of time of day due to the route being on some mountain roads. One concern was the rental car contract and the airport taxes and fees. By the time we paid the fees on a basic rental, we were over 400, which was not "free" by any means, and did catch us off guard a little. We opted for full insurance and expected that cost, along with fuel, so all in all, the rental car ended up around 900 for 8 days. (This was a three row crossover style vehicle that fit all our luggage and golf clubs.) The condo itself was nicely situated with everything we needed for the week to go smooth. Balcony had a lot of birds and needed a little cleaning, but otherwise the unit was clean and we didn't have any major complaints. This is an older building like much of the properties on Maui. If you have been to Oahu, this is vastly different in many good ways. Much quieter, and the buildings are older, but well kept.

Beautiful location and grounds

Pros: Great location, beautiful grounds,fun pool for all ages, easy access to parking and rooms. Condo could have been cleaner but it was livable. Cons: get a screen shot of the rental details before booking as these guys changed the terms of the rental after we booked. VRBO wouldn’t help us unless we had a screen shot of the terms. Overall, I’d stay again but with precautions

Great Location

We loved opening the blinds in the morning to watch the waves. Walking down to the pool or beach was easy - even with the construction being done. It wasn't as awful as other reviews made it sound. If you had little ones that needed naps - well that would be a different story but we didn't. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We were given fresh towels every day, they had free automatic dispensors of Mineral 30 sunscreen (can't use anything other than the Mineral sunscreen per Maui County ordiance). The grounds were so pretty and there were little tables tucked under the palms and trees out of the lobby. Great place to eat a bite, play a game or just relax out of the sun and heat. The birds LOVE this section and would be start singing and talking at 5:00 am and then again as the sun set. It was quite the show. The property was well maintained, even though it is a bit older hotel. All of the units are owned by individual owners so each unit is a little different. We really loved our time there. The restaurant on the property could use a menu refresh. There are so many ways to make food interesting and fun and I found the menu "just okay". It lacked a "wow" factor. There is however a wonderful Food truck lot on the street next to the hotel and Paradiso Pizza across the street is wonderful! Not just pizza either. We are heartbroken though about Lahaina. We left on Monday afternoon, before the fire. Our hearts go out to all who were lost. Mahalo.

Awesome Sunset View!

Nice, clean, awesome view condo unit in smaller sized resort. Pools and beach are not large but it all works really well.
