Hokulani 142, Honau Kai Resort, is a fabulous ground floor unit with a beautiful private lanai and garden area. Our lanai extends out to an open grass area which many of our guests use to relax, play games, or enjoy the quiet surroundings. There are no elevators exiting our unit or waiting to enjoy the resort and pool areas. Our guests come and go with our secure lanai door locks for convenient access to the pool areas and beaches.

Safe Travels - Ground floor with added secure access in/out from the lanai (keyed), no walking through the hotel hallways, corridors, or elevators to a higher floor location. Our unit features its own dedicated ventilation and AC system and air is NOT circulated/shared with other units and common places.

OUR CONDO: Ideal unit for families - 2 Bed / 1 Bath 950 square foot condo (plus 190 sq ft Lanai/Garden) with spacious 11 foot ceilings. It is located in the Hokulani tower (north side). Situated in the heart of Honua Kai Resort on the GROUND floor, it provides easy access in and out (from either the keyed Lanai or condo door) - no elevators needed! The lanai opens up to lush lawns for games or activities and walkways with resort views and the West Maui mountains. Outside foot traffic is considerably less than inner courtyard units, providing the convenience of walking out on the lanai and being a minute away from the resorts many pools, the amazing Duke's Restaurant, the Hokulani fish pond, and the wonderful Aina Gourmet Market.

FEATURES: This unit features four full size or larger beds - in the master, a King Bed with deluxe linens, an incredible Full over Full Bunk Bed in the second bedroom, and an upgraded Queen Plus (66x80) size comfort sofa sleeper in the living room. Our sleeper is 6” wider than standard sofa beds, and includes 80” sleeping surface length, solid platforms providing even support - no bars, no springs, and no sagging. All our guests, regardless of where they sleep, can rest comfortably.

TECHNOLOGY: Both bedrooms and living area have their own HD flat screen TV's with cable. Additionally, the main living room features a wall mounted 65" 4K Smart TV, plus a Blu-Ray DVD player. Our guests are subscribed to the resort's towel tracker program, allowing you to receive clean pool / beach towels around the property. HONUA KAI OVERVIEW:
Honua Kai is a newer property in lower density, north beach Ka'anapali! Resort amenities and luxury living at its Maui best. Close to shopping, dining, and golf. Enjoy the sun and sand at one of West Maui's most popular beach parks, Kahekili Beach (Airport Beach). Swimming and snorkeling are all within the resort area. Honua Kai is connected to the 3+ mile walkway along the shore to the famous Black Rock Beach, Whalers Village, or head north to visit Honokowai Beach Park (perfect for young children), the farmers market, and local organic food store.

Honua Kai Resort and Maui update: The following resort operations are all open daily.
The featured 3-acre network of pools, hot tubs, waterslide and children's area, 6am-10pm. Ho'ola Spa (Konea), 9am-5pm. Duke's Restaurant for dine in/take-out, 8am-9pm, plus live nightly entertainment. Duke's poolside service, 11am-4:45pm. Whaler's General Store (Konea), 7am-9pm. Aina Gourmet Market (Hokulani), 6:30am-2pm. Honua Kai Fitness Center, 24 Hrs. Honua Bell/Valet service is temporarily closed, and you must self-move luggage to the unit. Times Supermarket across the street from resort is also open daily, 5am-11pm. Many on island excursions are open with reduced capacity, so check with provider for updates. Nearby restaurants are open with some limitations, and currently requiring guests to wear masks.

Good friendly and prompt communication from host and owner. Great location and resort bellman are top notch. Very well maintained resort. Newer furnishings, great choices. Even has an Insta pot! Bunk bed mattresses are not real comfy but tolerable for most.

Such a great visit! Honua Kai never disappoints. We tend to always look for a ground floor unit, for ease of in and out. Location was great!!! But I will say the unit was very close to the doors into the lobby, so we heard a lot of "slamming" doors at all hours-never bothered us though.The unit had so mnay beach things-cooler on wheels, boogie boards, chairs and an umbrella-that part was wonderful!The kitchen was perfect for what we needed. Lots of plates/bowls/cups/etc. BBQ things were there and someone had left foil, and salt/pepper. The beds were comfortable and linens were good. We knew that we were only getting one bathroom, so our family of 4 shared-which was ok. Bathroom was very spacious and had a drying rack for wet suits. Laundry was wonderful! We always pack less knowing that we can wash clothes.Location was walkable to food trucks, and Times Market, and the other 'strip' mall things you need-pizza place, ice cream, rental shop for snorkel stuff. The resort was SOOOO clean and accommodating. Staff is very nice, having Duke's there is great for food. The owner of the unit was very kind, and checked in with us frequently-making sure everything was good. I could go on and on-having access to other pools in Luana was great. And the gym and small market were in the Konea tower-which was only a 2 min walk. The beach in front of the resort is amazing-water was clear and waves were mellow. We would stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay

Great place to stay! We went with our kids who are 1, 4 and 7 and the condo and the resort were perfect. The condo is clean, large and the beds are comfortable. Having the beach toys and accessories was a really nice bonus and added to the experience for our kids. The towel service included in the stay was so great and convenient around the pool and the resort/pool area is really wonderful.

Perfect location!

Loved the property for our family of 5 (kids ages 10-15). The location was central to everything we wanted to do on the island and resort staff were all very kind and helpful. The ground floor location was amazing since we could walk right out onto the grass from the lanai. The communication from the owner and property manager was quick, thorough, and very helpful. We will 100% stay here again on our next trip to Maui!

Fantastic week

I’m not really one to review properties much but just wanted to put in a good word for this place. We had a fantastic stay here. Beds were comfortable (even sofa bed!), and the unit was clean and well located. A special shout out for the quality beach equipment. We have found that many times because it’s a rental, things like boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas are low quality and/or pretty beaten up. Not here! Really great quality stuff that we used every day. I really don’t have anything bad to say—even when we had a small hiccup with down internet, owner and his staff were incredibly responsive and got it fixed ASAP. We hope to be back!

Amazing Family Vacation

Dan is so communicative, gives great information ahead of time so you are ready for your stay. Check in was easy, the rental had all needed plates, pans, utensils, etc. Loved that one of the bedrooms had no window was perfect option for multiple kids. The bunk bed was large likely full or queen sized. Ground floor was IDEAL for small kids, quick pool access and so close to Dukes. We will be back & definitely would love to rent this unit again.

Great experience

We are family of four with 2 young kids. This condo was perfect for us. It was near the pool and beach was 2 min walk from it. It’s on the ground floor. The property manager was very nice and quick in responding to the messages. Only thing I recommend to the onwer is to have another mirror in the condo. The only mirror is in the bathroom. If you are more than 2 adults, you will need to wait for your turn to get ready. Otherwise, this place is amazing. would definitely stay here again.

Great Family Spot in Maui

This is a great place for a family with 2 young kids! Our 4-year-old and 7-year-old loved the bunk beds, and the kids room has no windows, which was great for the jet lag. The place has plenty of storage and all the supplies you could need for a week-long stay. The ground floor location is great and convenient, with a short walk to the pool and beach. The resort is beautiful and great for kids, with 3 pools and a great waterslide, a swim-through cave, and a splash pad. The only complaint we had was that the back door was kind of beat up and finicky, so we didn't use it for access in and out of the unit, but that wasn't a big deal. I would absolutely come back here for a future trip!

Perfect unit at Honua Kai!

We’ve stayed at Honua Kai a few times and this was by far our best experience! The unit was very nice and well kept. The perfect size for our family of 5. Being on the ground floor with kids is so much easier. Communication before our arrival and during our stay was the best I’ve ever experienced with a short term rental. We hope we’ll be lucky enough to stay here again!

Nice, but needs some attention

The unit is well situated, a bit away from the pools, with the outside/ground floor a big bonus. Our biggest "complaint" is that the second bedroom is adjacent to the elevator and hallway/exterior doors. During our stay the "soft close" mechanism on the doors broke twice resulting in slamming doors (fairly promptly repaired, but very loud and at night sleep disturbing). Our other observation is that a number of the appliances are tired (dryer door has to be tapped shut with duct tape, toaster cord was frayed and gave mild shock when touched - management promptly taped up, AC filters were visibly dirty, and a few other minor things). The unit isn't really decorated and the kitchen is a bit under stocked. Attention to the slamming doors and these several minor issues would make this an ideal unit.

Absolutely wonderful

Perfectly clean and organized! Extremely responsive contact on the island! Exceeded expectations! We will stay here again. I loved the location of the unit. It’s very central and you have walking access to beach, restaurant, spa, local grocery store and coffee shops. One added bonus we parked underground! Unit to car was 2 minutes! Thank you for a wonderfully maintained unit, we will come again!
