I've stayed there before and was quite satisfied by this time was different. I understand renos but why was there hammering at 10:30 pm one night and then at 12:30 am the next night - so bad. Also I expected to have a microwave like other times, asked three times for one and was told there wasn't one available. That's not good service. If I had a repeat client, I would have gone and bought one for $100 and made sure she had one...especially someone who stays for four days.

Nicely renovated

This property is in the midst of a major major renovation with noisy construction going on until after 8 PM. The parking lot is full of cabinets, mattresses, and lots of other renovation materials. So you can sit on the river view deck shown on the website to escape the noise but it doesn’t show the very busy car bridge only 150 yards away. The eggs and sausages for breakfast was a very good idea but somebody needs to keep the chafing dish warm enough so that the food isn’t lukewarm. I also didn’t enjoy having to plug in the hairdryer, the coffee machine, and the alarm clock in my room. Restocking the coffee machine for my 2nd day would also have been nice. And finally, not having to return to the front desk at 7:30 in the morning after breakfast because my room key didn’t work any more would have helped to lessen my frustration with this property for so many glaring errors. I’m sure there are lots of other properties in Kamloops where you could leave happy.

We drove up to this property and I had to double check it was in the right place as it was a building site. If I would have been warned in advance it wouldn't have been such a shock but there was beds and furniture outside, workmen, equipment, noise and dust. When I went into reception the lady was very lovely and checked us in and our room was thankfully the opposite side of the where the work was going on so it didn't actually effect us other than walking through it to our room. The room itself was clean, spacious and the views of the river were lovely but the hotel next door has been demolished and there is a pier that's broken into the water so it's nice views as long as you don't look that way. Our room was on the ground floor and men were sat around outside our room and I didn't feel completely safe and comfortable. After going outside and talking to them, they all seemed lovely but I definitely wouldn't book a ground floor room again and I would have felt very worried and unsafe staying here without my partner with me. We decided to use the pool area which was really quiet and looked lovely but when we got into the pool it felt very slimy and slippery on our feet and when we moved there were bits in the water so we got straight out of there. The hot tub looked clean, felt slime free and was very hot though. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. The breakfast was lovely, it was all very neat and organised with a good view of the river.

Renovations were being done So there was lots supplies spread through the property. But everything was tucked out of the main walk through passages which I appreciate, as our room was at the front in the lower level

Our GPS did not provide good directions for getting to the Inn - guess we should have looked at a city map and would then have realized there was no access from Hwy 5 north for those travelling from Vancouver. Area around Inn felt a bit run down partly due to adjacent property having burned/been removed. Renovations are also taking place at the Inn. Bed was comfortable, bathroom newly removated, wonderful lighting for reading (which is a plus) but there wasn't even one chair in the room. We did have a nice view of the river - which was the reason we selected this property. We also enjoyed a walk near the property where we saw numerous sports fields and some nice homes. Rooms appeared to be well sound proofed.

The people are very nice and friendly. The place Is under reconstruction of most of the Inn. That was a little disappointing but the pool/hot tub was really relaxing. Free Breakfast. Eggs and sausages Cold. Still edible but cold. Friendly enough. Just glad it was only one night. Checkout was easy, quick and friendly.

The building is dated but the rooms have been renovated. Front desk was excellent. River view was beautiful. Very clean. Breakfast consisted of sausages, eggs, bagels, english muffins and cereal. All in all I had a very pleasant stay. Will stay here again.
