Enjoy this beautiful home with a cute garden and spacious backyard perfect for barbecues. A large patio table makes dinner outside quite pleasant under the shade of the oak trees. The home itself is a stylish and cozy space perfect for anyone looking for a short- or long-term stay in Kansas City within a short drive of many of the major attractions (more information below). The bedrooms have a king, queen, and twin bed, respectively. Great for kids and long-term stays! The perfect spot for professionals who need to work from home for a few weeks.
The sleeping arrangements allow for 6-7 people. Do let us know about your family/group needs so we can accommodate you ahead of time if you have special requests.
The kitchen is stocked with all the kitchen gear you will need during your stay including pots and pans, kitchen knives, coffee maker, plates and bowls, and kids' plates and bowls. Plates, bowls, and cups are to the left of the sink and coffee mugs, filters, and coffee are in the cabinet to the right of the sink. Our large dining room table seats eight comfortably and two more chairs from the breakfast nook can be squeezed in if needed.
The living room is a pleasant place to relax and has a smart TV with access to all major streaming platforms provided you have your own login (you will be logged out once you leave the house). If you are the musical type, you are welcome to play any of the stringed instruments hanging on the walls or make yourself comfortable at the piano.
Most of the major universities and hospitals are within a short drive making this an ideal place for anyone looking for a months-long stay for a temporary post.
There are also a ton of great parks to visit whether for a walk/jog or to let your kids play. We recommend Franklin Park, Loose Park, and Meadowbrook. Tower park is also right across the street so you have a playground less than two minutes away as well.
Within a mile, you will have access to great restaurants, bars, and breweries (we recommend Baba's Pantry, Boru, Thai House, South of Summit Taqueria and Summit Grill next door, McCain's Bakery, Waldo Pizza, KC Bier Co., Dodson's Bar and Commons). For Coffee, we recommend Second Best Coffee and to stock up on drinks, there is a Mike's Liquor Store right next door with an excellent selection of beer, wine, and spirits. The Wornall Plaza is only a 5-7 minute drive from the house and you can access Chik-Fil-A, Target, Trader Joes, and many department stores there as well as a Genesis fitness club if you need to hit the gym after visiting each of these restaurants. Grocery stores nearby include HyVee (my favorite), Aldi, and Trader Joe's; if you don't mind a ten-minute drive, there is also a Whole Foods near the Country Club Plaza that we frequent.
Major attractions within driving distance include the Zoo, all of the major museums (including the World War I Museum, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Toy and Miniature Museum, the Baseball Museum, and the Jazz Museum, the Kemper Museum), Legoland, the Aquarium, Science City, and Union Station. Other major visitor sites such as the Country Club Plaza and Kaufman Stadium are also only a short drive away.
Guest access
The entire house will be at your disposal. The garage and basement are partly used for storage but this will not affect your stay.
