This immaculately presented property is discreetly positioned along a medieval pathway with traditional lantern lighting, the approach to the property is a walk in history. On entering the property you will be wowed by the beautiful style and space and the far reaching views over the rooftops of Kendal and beyond. This gorgeous, homely property is ideal for a family with older children or perhaps a small group. Via an iron gate into a small courtyard, there’s a small entrance hall, big enough to leave your boots and shoes. There’s a kitchen/dining table for 6 to enjoy good hearty meals with your party. In addition, a large Velux window provides spectacular uninterrupted views of Kendal and the wider landscape.
Take the stairs down to the cosy lounge, eclectic in style with good quality furnishings. There’s a large raised reading area with floor to ceiling book cases offering an array of books and board games to choose from. The lounge itself has two comfortable sofas, a couple of lounge chairs to relax in and a Smart TV. This room is the perfect spot to relax and unwind in, particularly after a full day exploring the area or perhaps after a strenuous walk on the fells. You will find a hidden gem, directly accessed via French doors from the lounge in the small open top terraced area with seating for two. Such a fantastic suntrap with rooftop views, and an ideal spot to sit and enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple or two.
Two bedrooms (a double and a single trundle with additional pull out mattress) can be found down second staircase, plus a good size shower room with shower cubicle, toilet and sink. A further double room with en-suite bathroom, having a bath, WC and sink, is down the last set of stairs. There’s a large store room on this level too with washing machine, ironing board and iron for added convenience. The back door and rear garden is also accessed from this floor level. The garden is accessible down several steps, is enclosed with a small patio area and garden furniture. A sheltered private spot to enjoy a fresh morning coffee. N.B. this property is laid out over 4 floors and maybe unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues or the infirm.
Once you arrive at your holiday cottage, you can leave the car behind to make the most of your prime location. Kendal has an abundance of well-known high street brands mixed with several independent retailers, coffee shops, cafés, deli’s, bars and restaurants. With a weekly outdoor market selling anything from local crafts to clothing, you’ll find plenty on your doorstep to fill your days. Kendal Museum, dating back to 1796, is only a 20-minute walk, and Abbott Hall is ideal for art lovers, just 15 minutes away on foot. Kendal is an old market town famous for its festivals, historic sights including Kendal Castle, and is the home of Kendal Mint Cake. The Castle can be reached on foot if you’re feeling energetic, where you can enjoy a further 2-mile circular walk taking in the Castle on the Hill, and the River Kent. Situated only 10 minutes’ from the M6, Kendal is known as ’The Gateway to the Lakes’. In just 15 minutes’ by car, you’ll reach Windermere, Bowness-on Windermere and in 30 minutes, Ambleside. Beach 12 miles.
