Cyclists will enjoy the quiet country lanes and golfers will find Keswick Golf Course 1½ miles away. The popular bustling market town of Keswick with an abundance of interesting shops, eateries and a good leisure centre is 4½ miles. Stretch your legs along the edge of Derwentwater or through Borrowdale Valley and pick up the Keswick launch to cruise back again. Towards the south, Ullswater and Thirlmere are a short drive away and both connect via passes and spectacular scenery to the South Lakes.

Spacious, comfortable cottage

Great place to stay as long as you don't mind being a bit out of the way. Lovely spacious accommodation and the added bonus of red squirrels in the garden. We ate out occasionally but mostly self-catered - Sainsbury's delivered food, so that wasn't a problem. And we could walk up Blencathra from the cottage. Keswick provided SUPs, bikes and shops and the Honister 'Climb the Mines' experience was good for a rainy day activity.

Great stay!

Wonderful location, the enclosed garden with play equipment was great for pre-schoolers. Really enjoyed the walks straight from the house.

Great stay

What a wonderful location, in the midst of sheep, at the foot of Blencathra and everything we needed within a 15 minute drive. Plenty of walking opportunities in Lake District nearby. House is comfortable, well equipped kitchen, living room with great views and a TV room for the boys upstairs
