I booked this hotel through Hotels.com/Expedia as I was due to travel home from Alberta back to Saskatchewan. Two hours after booking Environment Canada issued a Travel not Recommended warning due to a blizzard moving across the province. I decided to take the safe option and travel the next day, therefore not putting my life and others at risk. I requested a refund due to the extreme weather event and was told bye the hotel they wouldn’t issue a refund. So I contacted Expedia and they also are denying a refund too. I’m out of pocket $100 and I suppose I got home safe. But this policy on behalf of both parties isn’t right. There should be some sort of conditional compensation or the offer to rebook the hotel in future.
