Wake up over the water on St. Croix's North Shore. North Star Villa sits directly on the ocean at Cane Bay, where the seafloor drops more than two miles into the Puerto Rico Trench just offshore. The famous Cane Bay Wall — one of the Caribbean's few true shore dives — begins at the bottom of our steps. Turtles, reef fish, seahorses, lobster, and in winter the occasional passing whale, all without booking a boat.
Three en-suite bedrooms, built to split evenly. Two kings and a queen, each with its own private bath and each opening directly onto the pool deck. A fourth bath serves the common areas. The layout suits three couples, friends traveling together, or a month away from the cold — no one draws the short straw. Sleeps 6.
Inside, travertine stone floors run throughout, set off by reclaimed mahogany and teak furnishings and Havana-style ceiling fans. The 32-foot living and dining room seats eight, and the kitchen is fully equipped: stainless appliances, granite counters, five-burner range with air-fryer oven. All bedrooms are air-conditioned.
Outside, the pool sits above the water, wrapped by a deck you can fish from or simply not leave. The 40-foot covered porch holds the grill and the dinner table, facing west — every evening ends with a full view of the sunset over Annaly Bay and the Hams Bluff lighthouse. On clear days, St. Thomas and St. John sit on the northern horizon.
Two dive shops are within walking distance. Christiansted's restaurants and historic waterfront are 20 minutes east. St. Croix is reachable nonstop from Newark and Atlanta, with one connection from most of the country.
Weekly and monthly rates available.
A mahogany study desk with hutch offers a dedicated workspace, and WiFi is included — the villa is a frequent choice for month-long winter stays and returning guests, including federal marine researchers who come back season after season.
Please note: the pool and shoreline are unfenced with no child-safety features, and the property includes elevated decks and direct ocean access over rocky terrain. For these reasons, the villa is not suitable for young children and is best suited to adult groups.
