Cozy, private and peaceful

My group and I rented this cabin during this past New Years, and it is the second time most of us have stayed in the cabin. Everything was perfect— the large kitchen had all the utensils, equipment and appliances we needed to make dinners and breakfast together. The fireplace in the living room was so cozy and was the centerpiece for our lounging around. The deck was really nice and we loved the tree lighting outdoors at night. Basement was a perfect bonus for us with a pool table and TV available for counting down to 2019 while watching the ball drop. Location is ideal, 10 min from Wpodstock and 12-15 min from Kingston. Bruce was an amazing host and was super responsive.

Beautiful Peaceful Cabin

The cabin was beautiful, peaceful, and very enjoyable. It was exceptionally clean upon our arrival. We did not have any problems at all. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we would have extend for another week but it was already booked. Along with beautiful cabin the agent Bruce was very hospitable and helpful. The cabin is also located in a very good location, not to far from the slopes and very close to the grocery store and shopping but far enough away to feel the relaxation of nature. Before we left we were planning another trip there. Awesome time and awesome place.

Clean, well-appointed home on picturesque lot

Our family of four (two small kids) loved our weekend here. Plenty of space to spread out and run around, including the incredible second-story deck. We will definitely be back!

Cozy quiet hideaway in Kingston

This attractive cabin was cozy, quiet and met all of our needs with just one exception: a second shower would have been nice (but not a deal breaker). The cabin is hidden from the road for great privacy and in a very quiet area. You are surrounded by woods yet are just a few miles away from shopping, restaurants, etc. The kitchen is open and roomy and the patio is large and comfortable. We didn't use the firepit but it's a wonderful asset to have. The main bedroom is comfortable and the whole cabin has many windows to let in lots of natural light. The cabin could use some dressers for clothing. The "person cave" downstairs has a large tv and pool table. Perfect for the two of us and we will be returning in a month.

Wow!!

This was our first rental up in the Catskills and will definitely go back just for this house alone! Very spacious and the deck is a great place to hang out at all times even in the pouring rain. The kitchen is incredible!! We cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the house! All utensils, pots, pans, and plates are high quality. All spices and oils were there and we left some too. Tons of counter space and a huge dining room table. Also a charcoal grill that was clean! Great shopping food at Adams market and all local farmers markets with quality organic products. The house was very clean and all beds and bedding very comfortable. Tons of sheets and pillows. They have a great theater room downstairs with cable and WiFi throughout the house. Laundry room with detergent and dryer sheets was also a big plus. The fire pit was awsome and the yard was in great shape. We hiked the woods right off the property line.also went to Platte Cove preserve and hike the waterfall, which was easy and totally awesome!! There are no negative aspects of this house!!! We were amazed at how great of a rental this was. Bruce the manager checked on us every day to see if we needed anything. He also got back to us in minutes when we had a question. Five star rental for sure!!! We couldn’t have picked a nicer place. 3 of us stayed here and we had visitors a couple days and they were all amazed with the place. Rent this house you will love it!!! ~c

Absolutely Fabulous!!

Stayed for a long 3 day weekend this past week. Bruce, property manager, was absolutely wonderful to work with. We have rented vacation homes for past 20+ years and this might be the best , most tranquil, relaxing and "bang for the buck" of any of the homes. The pictures are excellent , but the house is even better than the pictures portray. A fabulous vacation getaway in the mid-Hudson River Valley. We were located a short 10-15 minute drive to the towns of Woodstock, Saugerties, Kingston, and Rhinebeck for antiques, food/restaurants, shops, etc. For sightseeing or entertainment, it's close proximity to Wineries & Vineyards, Distilleries, and Brew Pubs/Micro Breweries provide much to do. One of the best features of the location is it's close proximity to the Kingston-Rhinecliffe bridge. If you check the map, and know the area - - - bridges crossing over the Hudson to cross from one side to the other are few and far between. The bridge to cross over the mid-Hudson River is only 15 minutes away via Route #199 in Kingston, home of many restaurants, shopping. A few short miles south of Kingston takes you to Rhinebeck. Many fine restaurants dot the landscape along Main Street of Rhinebeck, and highly recommend many restaurants there. The bridge alternatives are travelling 50 miles north or south. A GREAT location for traversing both the east bank of the Hudson (Dutchess Wine Trail / Hudson Beverage Trail), or the wineries on the west bank (Shawangunk Wine Trail) to the south, Angry Orchard, Orange County Choppers further south! The home is inviting, quiet, with a fabulous amenities, great porch and backyard area, and the fire pit was delightful. I would highly recommend this home and in fact, will be booking it shortly for another weekend. KUDOS to the owner for her thought in construction of the log house, and to Bruce for his care in booking and delivering on a fine experience. The Kitchen is well equipped, living room, bedrooms and downstairs immaculate and "showroom quality". The downstairs pool table is top notch, and plenty of room to relax. An absolute gem of a vacation rental home!!

Wonderful family trip

We arrived to the beautiful cabin and it is exactly as it is described. We happened to book the cabin during a major heat wave in the NE. The inside was warm and we had initial trouble cooling things and we reached out to Bruce who responded immediately both in emails and coming to the cabin. We were able to get things cooler and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. The porch is fantastic. Kitchen fully stocked to cook and a great TV room where we watched the World Cup. Only thing wrong is that we should have stayed longer. Great family memories.

Awesome Cabin in the Woods!

We had a great time in this lovely cabin celebrating our son’s birthday and graduation from medical school! The cabin offered the perfect blend of activities and relaxation. We loved playing card games, grilling, using the fire pit, playing pool, along with relaxing out on the deck while reading or chatting. The kitchen is equipped with everything you can imagine. We loved getting out and walking Poet’s Walk, strolling through Rhinebeck, picnicking at the edge of the Hudson River, and visiting the grounds of the FDR Home and Vanderbilt Mansion. It was a great weekend, and thanks to Bruce who checked in with us via email a couple times over the weekend. We highly recommend this cabin!

The perfect weekend escape

We are already discussed our plans to return. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend out of the city, and it was a gorgeous house, with all the necessities, from dozens of cozy blankets, spices, pots/pans, laundry detergent, to over a dozen board games, puzzles and some video games. We love to cook and this place had a great set up to do so. We checked out Keegan's Brewery one afternoon, but otherwise just enjoyed ourselves by the romantic fireplace. The house manual had several restaurant and activity recommendations which was very thoughtful. We want to return this summer to enjoy the hiking trails and fire pit.

Beautiful, Quiet Cabin

Our family had a wonderful stay in Kingston. Bruce was terrific and helpful every step of the way. Cabin was absolutely beautiful and the kitchen was well stocked! We made use of the grill, and the fire pit was a great evening activity for s'more and relaxing. (We even heard owls and were visited each night by three beautiful fawns in the backyard.) Teenagers loved the billiards table, and there were tons of board games to enjoy. Wifi is a must for them, so they were happy to have that, too. We were located close to Woodstock and Overlook Mountain. Mohonk Preserve was just a half hour drive for a beautiful day hike, and we explored New Paltz while passing through. Also visited Kaaterskill Falls close by. There was plenty of space for our family. We highly recommend staying here. It was a terrific experience!

Perfect for 4 friends/2 couples needing a low-key weekend getaway

The place is beautiful, quiet, private, and well maintained and well-equipped. Perfect if you're looking for a place to spend time with friends and soothe frayed nerves. The cabin has everything you could want. (Well-stocked game cabinet! I even learned to throw a football!) There is one or two glitchy-things (the internet conks out in the evenings but then spontaneously heals itself by morning) but absolutely nothing to keep a person from having a really nice weekend. Groceries, restaurants are abundant and a pretty 15 minute drive away. Stars. Fireflies. A woods full of the sounds of owls and other birds (and maybe coyotes?). Pass a few hours around the firepit or sitting on the porch, just counting your blessings and taking in life's simple pleasures. An extra thanks to Bruce for being responsive to our random queries and making this all such an easy thing to arrange.

Great weekend away

We had a fantastic time at the house. It was located perfectly- a quick drive from the popular Kingston areas, but still far enough to be quiet and peaceful. The house is in great condition and well maintained, the property manager Bruce checked up on us several times to make sure we were happy. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great Vacation Home

Great place to stay. The value is in the picturesque setting away from the standard hotel/motel, parking lot views and fast food restaurants. The surrounding view on the back porch included a backdrop of beautiful fall foliage, multiple wild turkey and several deer sightings in the evenings. The photos in the listing and the location are accurate. The cabin had that rustic feel and was well stocked with a lot of high end amenities. Inside, the cabin had warm feeling where the girls enjoyed the playing one of the many board games in the closet. They also enjoyed the downstairs pool table. My wife really enjoyed the fireplace. Out the back door, we explored the surrounding woods with some hiking with our young girls. It was ideal for them as opposed to trekking for miles elsewhere. In the evening we enjoyed the fire pit for making s’mores. The location was good for our itinerary of apple picking, Hunter Mountain Festival, Woodstock and finally The Old Rhinbeck Aerodrome Airshow. I grew up in Kingston and haven’t been back for years. I was surprised that there were more things to do in the area than we had time for. Bruce, the property manager, kept in touch with us daily and was very responsive with our requests, providing great customer service. We visited the Wilklow Apple Orchards as it was great for kids and apple picking. Modern Mythology in Woodstock is an eclectic store that my wife loves to visit. Dallas Hot Weiners is a must visit diner for anyone that grew up in the area. Hunter Mountain Skyride was very cool for all ages and the Zipline Line looked cooler. The absolute best attraction was the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Airshow. It’s the only place in the world you’ll get as close to and experience what it was like to fly an aircraft shortly after the years of Orville and Wilbur Wright. I have two recommendations how to improve the VRBO. First, the windows need coverings for the evening. We felt a little exposed late at night. There were people next door clearing brush and burning it well after dark. Second, it would be nice to come and leave from the front door during our stay instead of having to enter through the basement. Overall, we had a great vacation and really enjoyed staying in this VRBO. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends or family. Thanks for the memories!!!

Perfect spot to relax and explore the area.

Our family recently visited the area for the first time and we will be back! We found the location to be ideal to visit the many sites in the area. The log house was in a private spot, yet so easy to get to get to Kingston, Woodstock and the many hiking and swimming areas. The house was clean and very well equipped. The living space was spacious and inviting and opened onto a lovely outdoor deck. We enjoyed an evening fire around the fire pit. We enjoyed an amazing diner in Hudson( Wm Farmer and Sons), lunch in Woodstock, and of course breakfast at the Phoenicia Diner. Bruce was very helpful, responded back to me so quickly, and offered great instructions to make our stay better than we could have imagined.

Simply amazing!

Beautiful house that made for a perfect long weekend getaway. My girlfriend and I just spent 4th of July weekend at this breathtaking log cabin. This has been our third Hudson Valley VRBO rental in the past year, and was hands down the best one. A covered veranda with beautiful views into the surrounding forest, a fire pit for late-night bonfires and extremely charming kitchen and living quarters. We can't wait to go again!

Property was beautiful; spacious; quiet and well groomed!

We had a wonderful 3-days at the cabin in Kingston. We were minutes from Woodstock;, hiking trails, and rustic mountain voyages. The cabin was comfortable, spacious and well equipped for any family or five (5) or less. Well stocked with games, pool table, a bar, and a very large flat screen TV with cable. Great kitchen equipment and accessories (I'm a chef). There was even a fresh market 10 minutes away that could even rival Whole Foods, with great fresh produce and proteins. At the house, there were many kitchen staples already supplied - baking items; oils; vinegar's; butters, etc. We would definitely return again in the future. The management company was quick and responsive when we had a minor plumbing issue, just as we arrived. The reason for four (4) stars instead of five (5) is the plumbing issue that I felt should have been avoided, and we were not supplied a front door key which would have been more enjoyable, than going thorough the basement every time we returned. The house also lacked bedroom shades that gets you up kind of early when the sun beams in. Thank you to Bruce for an enjoyable weekend.

Perfect trip

My family and I spent the holiday weekend at this gorgeous cabin and it was everything we could have expected and more! Even though this was a weekend away, the cabin immediately made us feel right at home and had all the amenities we would ever need with the added bonus of a panoramic view of the beautiful outdoors. We were able to spend time in Rhinebeck and explored other surrounding areas, even taking on the challenge of hiking Overlook Mountain. The hike is 2.5 miles on a steady incline, but rewards you with the most spectacular views of the Hudson. After exerting much of our energy on the trail we had a great lunch in Woodstock, only to retreat back to the cabin to roast s'mores by the campfire. The property manager, Bruce, was more than accommodating and ensured our stay was both comfortable and relaxing. I am extremely excited to come back for another family trip or even a romantic getaway. So happy to have found this gem tucked away in the woods.
