For those who prefer to stay on dry land, there are excellent cycling and walking trails, as well as archery and Glice skating, a dry ski slope offers skiing, snowboarding & tubing.

The onsite Boathouse Restaurant is open for meals, drinks and snacks all day & has a shop too. The surrounding Cairngorms National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. A short drive away, Aviemore offers shops, restaurants, and access to the Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway, which provides breathtaking views from the top.

In winter, the area is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding. For a family-friendly day out, visit the Highland Wildlife Park, home to native Scottish species as well as polar bears and snow leopards.
