Great sleep and dining at hotel Klaustur!

Short but sweet overnight stay in Kirkubaejarklaustur. I enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant even with my late arrival, and had a very restful evening. The complimentary breakfast in the sun room was wonderful!

The property is clean and the rooms are an adequate size. However, for $500 USD/EURO a night , this hotel did not meet our expectations! The only reason we ended up here was because we made a booking error with another hotel and we needed to secure one in the area. This was the only one available. When I asked the agent and he quoted me a rate with a "discount" , it was the same as what Expedia had already shown - so no, it was not really a special discount. Front desk agent was nice and professional. The rooms are clean and quality is good but there is NO AC at all! I came in July so it is not excessively cold or anything. When I checked the windows, the metal bar was off of the hinge so I could not even crack them open. There were no fans either! So my partner and I both woke up sweating in the middle of the night. Breakfast was good but not outstandingly exceptional . Overall, was expecting a lot more for $500 . Not worth it.

Nice hotel and friendly staff. Tasty European breakfast. Only negative was staff was slow at replenishing empty breakfast items. Ended up with cold scrambled eggs (almost empty dish) with no ketchup since the bottle was empty. The yogurt, porridge etc was fresh and tasty. The cod liver oil vitamins was a nice touch! Front desk staff was excellent for check in and check out!
