The best night's sleep I had in my 10 days in Canada! The room was super spacious and well appointed, the bed was surprisingly luxurious and I was impressed with being provided bathroom amenities. Even dark blue towels labelled makeup! Prior to this I'd stayed in a five star in Vancouver but I actually preferred it here. The ONLY downside, and it's a big one if you're neither mobile nor steing is that it's a three story walk up. No elevator. So, I had to lug my 25kg case from Australia up and down myself. It's lucky I could as a small, solo female traveller. If you are solo and female, this hotel is super safe. Gob entey and apecial deadbolt key code to wnter your room. It's also very quiet.

This was a late, quick last minute booking so we didn't have a chance to check reviews. Thankfully we were so pleasantly surprised, upon entering the hotel, we could tell the property was clean and well taken care of. The Reception, although using dated system, was efficient and staff were a joy to deal with. We were assigned a lovely room, clean without any odour of disinfectant or stale carpet shampoo. Shower had great pressure and beds were comfortable. Temperature controls worked well and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast in the small coffee shop was adequate, fresh and refreshed regularly, coffee smelled good. We noted the pool and small gym were well equipped however we didn't have the time to enjoy. Location suited us perfectly as our next stop was the Canoe Museum just 5 min away.

Quirky lodging — seems to be a mix of apartments and hotel suites. Our “room” was a 1 bedroom w/ a kitchen/dining/living room and a nice bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. We were on the third floor and there is no elevator but this wasn’t a problem since we tend to use steps anyway! Location was excellent for dining and generally walking around Guelph.

Western Hotel is my favourite hotel in Guelph. All the staff is wonderful. The rooms are spacious, large smart TV's & full kitchens. Walking distance to many restaurants & bars.

The air conditioner had a high pitched tone so had to shut it off, talked to one of the cleaning folks who helped open windows as it was cool outside. The shower needs to be fixed as the diverter didn’t work 100% (also shown to staff). My room felt a bit claustrophobic as all the blinds were closed made room feel small (they were closed because no view or into another window I made adjustments where possible). As I was with others I got to see different rooms in the hotel that were much better so not all bad. These next points were known, no lobby, no elevator, no parking (city paid lot). Restaurant attached to hotel was good. Made do but I wouldn’t stay again.

This place is AMAZING. Exceptionally clean. Fresh.Has everything you might need. I don’t have enough words to rave about this establishment. If ever in Guelph be sure to stay here & be sure to eat in the restaurant downstairs. Everything was delicious and service was top notch. 10/10

Excellent stay. For the price ($50 cheaper than a regional chain), much better than a regional chain. Has everything you need except for water bottles; bought those across the street at a convenience store. Tons of local food, very walkable. Charming character.
