Jan. 15-20, 2026Low rating is not for the hotel, but the rental entity. The resort itself is dated but well maintained (we had two minor maintenance issues and they were fixed within an hour). The food and drinks at the pool bar were very good and the prices reasonable. The staff was pleasant throughout.We thought we were renting one week from an owner, but we found out it was a condo management company (although they made it "sound" like I was communicating with the individual owner) when they sent us a note ONE WEEK before we were to arrive saying they've been unable to contact "the owner " since November and the reservation had to be cancelled! Our daughter & family were joining us for 5 days so luckily they were able to get us a reservation for that period. But we had to scramble to find another place for us for just 2 days and, of course, that meant the inconvenience of moving and lost time doing so. It was just a lot of unnecessary stress!The VRBO head company did compensate us (without asking) by cancelling the VRBO fee and offering to make us whole on the price difference of our 2- day stay. The management company we rented through did always reply to my emails quickly and did refund the 2 days we didn't stay at The Point (after several prompts).I always read the reviews thoroughly when I rent, but I never saw this problem listed. I haven't had a problem with other VRBO rentals before, but I will definitely be more weary in the future if I use them again.
