Airport shuttle was first class. Property is looking rather tired, but staff are really friendly, and rooms comfortable and spacious. Good Wi-Fi. Shared Kitchen area a big bonus ... but it's quite a walk to shops, and restaurants are about 30 mins walk away on a busy road.

The staff are friendly. Breakfast is ok. The hotel is really fast and there's no transportation to town. They charge $25 for airport transfer. The room has several things broken and it flooded when I showered. The view was a junk yard. There's no privacy. I do not recommend at all.

Rooms were very spacious. Mine consisted of a large common area with kitchen and couch/Tv and 3 private bedrooms with baths. Would be a great place for a family or group. Staff and management very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was not open for business yet but was served a delicious breakfast and awesome coffee. They rent snorkel gear which you can use at the beach or any number of parks. The water here is beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.

Shell Villa is a home away from home. The rooms are large and very comfortable with a sofa and huge soaker bathtub. The staff are very caring and attentive. The staff are amazing here. Breakfast was great and they will schedule it around your plans for the day (i.e. diving, hiking, kayaking). The staff is always willing to bend over backwards to help accommodate your needs. The rooms are great and very clean. AC works amazing in the rooms. The main building with the restaurant and bar is still in the process of being refurbished from the Hurricane in 2021 but the staff adapted and delivers breakfast to the individual cabins. The staff were very kind, helpful, communicative and went above and beyond. The room was very clean, the pillows were soft and fluffy, and fitting with the name, the sink was a giant clam shell! The staff were happy to provide us will vegetarian breakfast, plenty of extra towels, helped coordinate with the laundry service a friend recommended, and on our last day when we were unable to find an available cab to drive us to Malakal, they drove us themselves so that we would not be late for our kayaking tour. I already recommended this place to a friend that will be staying there later this December.

The resort asked me what time I would check in and I checked in about 15 minutes after I said I would. Despite that, the small room air conditioner had not been turned on and it was over 90 deg F in the room when I arrived after 5 pm in the evening. I left for 3 hours hoping it would cool down but it was still warm when I came back. The room opens up to a common room, so I turned on the air con in the common room and that cooled my room down although with less privacy! The rooms come with HUGE TVs but they are not plugged in and do not work. This resort does NOT have TVs in the rooms that work. Bring your own soap. The soap provided are very small blocks of what appears to be compressed chalk. The "soap" does not lather at all. I was given a wifi password when I checked in but later it quit working so I had to go back up to the office (if you're older like myself, that means A LOT of stairs) and get another password to another wifi signal. I took a shower at 7:00 AM and only got warm water for a couple minutes and then cold water for the rest of my shower. Breakfast was a plate with a cold fried egg, cold french toast and some chopped apple all covered by plastic. Coffee is instant coffee. Located next to the main highway on Palau so lots of street noise heard in the room. The "king" mattress was two double beds put together so the middle has a hard frame down the middle of the bed. The mattress was VERY firm. The staff was helpful but unfortunately not much to work with.
Breakfast: instant coffee with cold dish - all the same.

Incredible Service!

I have been fortunate to travel to many countries and this experience was one of a kind. Importantly, the property itself is fine. It’s a bit dated and, as others have mentioned, about a mile out of the main strip in Koror. If you are an older traveler and hadn’t rented a car, this would be a limiting and probably disqualifying factor. That said, the service that Leo and his staff provided was absolutely top notch. Visiting Palau is not always straightforward. It isn’t as easy to book a tour, a car, etc as it is elsewhere. Leo helped with securing a car, offering suggestions on what to do and where to go, etc. That alone was invaluable to me! The staff provides a hot breakfast every morning around your schedule and is in the process of adding a restaurant later this year. If you don’t want to pay twice the money to stay downtown, this lovely place is definitely worth it!
