I do not recommend! Insecure! Those staying at the hotel are not tourists, they are usually homeless people. I only stayed 1 day and left immediately. The woman standing at the reception is very rude and treats the customer so badly.

I agree that there should be no complaints because the rates are extremely backpacker-friendly. You’re paying nothing and that is what you get. The four bed room smelled, the stalls are inadequate. The staff was good and helpful, it is a couple of subway stations to the heart of downtown. Ideally, book it for one night only. Or perhaps you’ll get used to it after awhile. I don’t know cos I only stayed a night. I’ll give it a good rating because of the price, competent staff and adequate kitchen/meeting room

This is a great hostel in terms of price/quality ratio. Their toilets are a little narrow, other than that great hostel, great staff. I would recommend this place.

Very clean and spacious hostel. Especially loved that the bathrooms and toilets were also gender separated. Ideal location. Very helpful and friendly staff too!

The staff here are lovely and friendly but the property is very aged. The lack of room keys is concerning. The toilet cubicles are very cramped.

The best hostel ever! After trying several hostels in Kiev I came across Garis. Staying here was an absolute delight. The staff are helpful and courteous, the rooms clean and comfortable. Without hesitation, I would say Garis is the gold standard of hostels in Kiev. Most of the staff spoke English quite well, many of the other guests also spoke English and were friendly and helpful. The shared kitchen is well set up, the hostel is clean and close to the Metro and local markets. The area and the other guests were also quiet and friendly. Everyone was so polite I felt like I was back home in Canada among sober Canadians. Stay at Garis and you will not regret it for a moment. I love Garis(you will understand when you stay there :).

Good choice for everyone!

I recommend Gar'is Hostel Kiev. You will feel like at your home. I will prefer Gar'is Hostel Kiev again for my next visit. If I go to Lviv, I'm sure that my first choice will also be Gar'is Hostel Lviv. 15 minutes walking distance to city center. Secure environment. But not enough lighting in the street during night time. Hostel is at the dead end of street. If you are planning to come night time by taxi from airport, use Uklon or Uber mobile application with free wifi at the airport to order a taxi. I recommend to buy a new SIM card for non-residents. Vodafone Red Small package for 60 UAH (4 GB mobile Internet + 25 minutes international calls + lots of minutes local cals and SMS)

Great hostel, perfect for the saver

For such a low price, you get a great place. Proper showers, good WiFi, charging for phone's. But it does come with issues, can be slightly hot at night but nothing that an open window won't solve (the issue with this is that other users may not want to open it so you will have to deal with it). But overall, amazing for the price, thanks

hostel自体は値段相応で悪くないです。 ただし、予約を入れたい点で支払いは終了しているのに、聞き入れてもらえず、２重支払いを強要されました。跡形エクスペディアに電話連絡して、後から支払った分を返却してもらい、事なきを得ましたが、後味は悪かったです。返却時のhostel側の対応した人は親切に返信いただけたので、その点はよかったです。よって、普通の評価です。
