Excellent Apartment

This property is centrally located but tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood. Check in was extremely easy with clear instructions and communication with the owner was remote but flawless. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable with all of the amenities we needed. We appreciated having a combo wash/dry laundry machine - it was convenient to have our laundry ready after a day of exploring. The wooden soaking tub was a great way to relax after the day. We would absolutely recommend this apartment and would stay again if we return to Kyoto.

Above and Beyond

I hesitate to give an accurate review as I want this place to be available when I book in the future, but the hosts really have an exceptional place. This is how every VRBO should be. 1. Excellent and very patient communication from the hosts prior to arrival. 2. A amazingly clean and generous sized 2 bedroom apartment. One room with tatami, one western styled. 1.5 baths. A local map with important information…grocery stores, cafes, etc. Coffee and tea. A washer and dryer. Powerful air conditioning that cooled the place quickly. Picturesque view. 3. There is one apartment on each floor with an elevator. We had the 5th (top) floor, we could see the Kiyomizu temple and are situated right on the river. 4. Quiet neighborhood (by the creek!) but a quick walk to Kyoto Station, Nishibashi, Gion. We walked everywhere. I am looking forward to staying here again, assuming they have availability, anytime I head back to Kyoto.

Perfect base for exploring Kyoto

This property was perfect for a few days exploring Kyoto. It was beautifully neat, clean and comfortable for my family of four. It has a lovely view across the river, and is an easy walk to Kyoto station. I’d definitely recommend this property.

This is a wonderful place to stay in while in Kyoto. It is very close to the Keihan line and in a quiet neighborhood. From there we were able to explore the torii gates at Fushima Inari, the shrines and streets of Gion, the excellent restaurants of Pontocho Alley, and the Nishiki Market. Kyoto Station is easy to get to from local buses or with a 15-minute walk. Check in and check out process is very simple and easy. The space is elegant and well-designed with efficient use of space. A/C and heat as well as WiFi worked well. The kitchen supplies were excellent. The two bathrooms were very comfortable. The best part was the Japanese-style bath, a wooden tub in an all-wooden room where you can soak in your own private onsen. We weren’t able to go to a ryokan during our trip, so this was a great alternative. I highly recommend this Saito Family property in Kyoto.

Perfect Stay

This was an excellent location for walking to several major sightseeing locations in Kyoto as well as conveniently located for accessing Kyoto Station. The property itself was beautiful with a great view, very quiet and exactly what we were looking for at a great price.
