Booked this hotel because of the onsen. No where online did it say on its website it was not tattoo friendly. Was told I could not use it because of my tattoos. Was very disappointed. It was a beautiful traditional hotel with a wonderful breakfast. But I feel because I was unable to use the onsen it was not worth the price.

Relaxing hot spring

It's a traditional style hotel. No shoes. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The room was a classic room with a futon. The TV wouldn't turn on. The shower had outrageous water pressure and was comfortable. The breakfast was a bit of a mad house as it was incredibly busy but it was good. The hot spring baths are open all night long and was excellent. It's also a classic style. That means your nude and taking showers before hand.

Definitely book it

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and the amenities are outstanding. Pretty convenient and walkable to many train stations. We loved the breakfasts, the nightime ramen, all-day matcha lattes, popsicles/ice cream, massage chairs, and on-site onsen! Staff is very helpful and welcoming. Very easy for non Japanese speaking travelers and great for families with children.

Great property in Kyoto and short walking distance to Shinkansen Kyoto station. Loved the hot spring onsen and lovely family room. Small recommendation - my husband and I are vegan and our kids are vegetarian so we could not have the complimentary Ramen in the evenings as the broth was made from chicken and pork. Would have loved it if there was an option for vegans and vegetarians. Complimentary ice lollies also had dairy so my husband and I could not have them (though the kids enjoyed it thoroughly), a non dairy fruit flavoured ice pops option would have been great as there were three different types dairy ice lollies. Would I stay here again? Yes we definitely would!

Recommended by a friend. I will surely recommend to my own friends. It is clean and you will feel the Japanese culture in their aesthetics. It is also near the Kyoto Station and almost every local hotspot are accessible via taxi, bus, or by walking. Their service is of quality, from the entrance door to your room's door, you can make sure that they'll be taking care of you. I did not get to try their restaurant and the onsen, but I will for sure do it the next time I visit.

Very clean rooms. Love the laundry facility-free washers, only had to pay for dryer. Onsen experience was great after a long week of sightseeing. Loved the free ramen at night from 9-11 pm and popsicles. Kids would love this place.

Great buffet and location for family stay

The whole property is in a traditional Japanese style where you walk in with slippers and beds are on the floor. The flow everywhere is just tatami mats and there’s a nice cozy feeling walking around the hotel with the night clothes they give you. The onsen is a huge plus. Had a bit of a cultural shock in the beginning to go in naked but it was truly freeing and extremely clean and well maintained. The onsen is open through the night which makes it convenient to relax after a long day. This is THE hotel to stay in if you’re going to Kyoto (which you must anyway for the Fushimi Inari Shrine)
