Older building but renovating. Smaller family run Inn but very cozy. Room ovetlooked the docks and lake. Perfect! Bar and restaurant attached on the boardwalk. And nice walk after dinner at the waterfront park beside the Inn. So happy with this find.

Amazing Time !

Perfect place to stay. The Heron has a feel like staying in a private large beautiful home. The property and the lake are very clean, easily accessible everywhere. I would buy a room at the Blue Heron if I could. One of the best privately owned hotels I’ve stayed in. I’ve stayed in places in England , Scotland , France, Canada & all over the U.S. from Rhode Island to Arizona . We took our well behaved dog and she loved it too. The food is great around the Heron. Bars with food, convenience stores parks all within walking distance.

Short review: Nice place for a romantic stay in NW IN Room: Lake View 2nd Floor Suite Good: View, Fire Place, Spa, Big Room, Friendly service, close to lake and Drift on Pine Bad: Stain on comforter, pipes from other rooms very loud in our room, tv has 1/2 of the channels it shows It's a good stay, will probably be better in the summer when there's more to do.

We had a really nice time here. We've stayed here before and came back, so that says something. A nice little place close to the lake, casino, and the amenities of NW Indiana and SW Michigan.

The stay was really nice and made us feel really welcome. The room was really clean and the bed was comfy. There was an outside deck/bar over the water that had an amazing view and was really nice
