It was a nightmare. For the first 6 days we did not have hot water and even after the owner changed the boiler, we still did not have enough hot water for 3 people. We arrived and the floor was very dirty. We had to call our own maid to clean it. For the first few days we only had one set of towels and sheets. And in the last few days we discovered a gas leak from the stove so we had to wake up in the middle of the night to make sure the situation was under control. We contacted the owner but he did not care to answer us back and he did not care about our safety.

The unit was not cleaned when we arrived and in fact there was garbage and towels/linen throughout the unit. At the check in time out party had to leave to allow th maid to clean the condo. I have never experienced a VRBO where we could not check in until several hours AFTER the normal check in time.

Family trip

Spacious, well appointed villa with great location. Only detraction was the fact that the exterior unit was being painted during the whole week while we were there. Otherwise, an excellent experience.

Room for improvement

Property is a bit dated and need some love and care. Handles missing in the cabinet doors. Pots and pans were in terrible condition. Host replied to most of our messages but was unable to provide answers to our questions or requests. Seemed a bit disconnected of what his role should be. He couldn’t provide info on golf cart rentals, massage services and worst of all…there was no electricity in La Romana for around 14 hours and he did nothing to at least guide us to where we could buy candles. He just said maybe we could ask in the hotel as he was calling but the phone was busy.

Great apartment!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely apartment! It’s perfectly located within walking distance of all the Altos de Chavon attractions- shops, restaurants, and amphitheater. The apartment is clean and spacious and comes fully stocked. Raphael was a great host and responsive. A lovely experience over all!
