The beds were great at this hotel. The room was comfortable and appreciated we could use our Netflix account on the TV. The room was too hot and had to pop open the window as the thermostat was on a lock. The soap and shampoo weren't to my taste, smell was off-putting. Its about a 20 minute walk to the marina area and a 15 minute walk to the train station. Most staff were friendly and helpful.

made La Spezia a memorable part of my trip.

it was a last min booking. but it was perfect, and lived up to it's name. it had everything I need and felt inspired to get up the next day and go to cinque terra. great location by the train station as well. bit pricey compared to a few others but worth it. they treated me very well.

This was an excellent choice for a place to stay in La Spezia. I am so happy that i booked this hotel. The decor was modern. The staff was excellent and very welcoming. Even the people staying at the hotel were friendly. The breakfast was great as well amd had a good variety of food to choose from. The room was comfortable and I had a huge balcony. I love being near clock towers and this room didn't disappoint! It is walkable to the train station and just about everything else in La Spezia. If you need a place to stay, The Poet Hotel is it! For the people who talk about the strong fragrance, this is a large reed diffuser that is located in the stairwell. It was noticable outside the room, but definitely not in my room.

La Spezia is not an upscale town….but the hotel is very nice with an excellent breakfast plus it’s close enough to walk to the train station to catch a train to Cinque Terre, Genoa, or Pisa.

Great location. Really quiet unlike some nearer the train station who could hear the tannoys all night. Comfortable beds. Warm room. Great access to the town and the station. We took a travwl kettle..but we are lazy as there was a 24 hour drink station. Staff were very helful.

Strong smell

This hotel has a very strong smell from reed diffusers that are placed all over the place. It was too much and overwhelming. Even rooms had a strong smell of cleaning supplies. Having to deal with this smell all the time made our stay uncomfortable.
