Almond House Cottage

Sheltered by the canopy of almond orchards, the Amêndoa cottage offers a picturesque vista overlooking our Negramole and Castelão vineyards. Delicate wildflowers adorn the perimeter of the sparkling pool, creating a vibrant contrast against the serene backdrop. As the sun dips below the mountainous horizon, guests can relish in the tranquility of orange-hued sunsets that cast a warm glow over the landscape. With its idyllic setting and harmonious blend of natural elements, the Amêndoa cottage provides a peaceful retreat amidst the beauty of the Algarve countryside.

The Amêndoa cottage can can accommodate up to 8 people in 3 rooms with 2 bathrooms complete with scents from La'Eva. First built by our mother the 1920's, the house was the first to open up to guests and perhaps was the start of new adventures for our family. We decorated it carefully, filling it with curiosities and finds from local sources, and with artwork and books from our own collections. Located at the westerly edge of our vineyards, the cottage is secluded and private amongst natures’ bounty and yet a mere stroll from the main house. The kitchen is well equipped so you can self cater beautiful meals on your terrace or sat around the private pool that looks out onto the old olive grove. Get cosy in the living room after dark and you'll soon lean back into the rhythms of Algarvian time.

RATES

- The Amêndoa cottage is available for stays for a maximum of 4 adults and 4 children from April - October.
- Prices start from €300 per night
- Low season has a 3-night minimum stay (April & October)
- High season has a 5-night minimum stay (May - September)
- Babies under 3 years old that sleep in a travel cot (provided upon request) do not count as an additional person.
- Our grape harvest starts on August 18th (if you would like to participate just let us know on booking).

AMENETIES

- Holds 4 adults and 4 children in 3 bedrooms, 1 of which has an en-suite bathroom, the others with a shared bathroom.
- A private swimming pool & garden.
- 3 Bedrooms host Two Double Size beds 180cm/6ft wide / Two bunk beds.
- Floor to ceiling windows with direct access to the patio and beautiful natural daylight throughout the cottage.
- Bed linen, towels and bathroom essentials by LaEva are provided as well as a powerful hairdryer.
- High-speed Wi-Fi connection is included.
- The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, electric cooker/hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, iron, and ironing board for laundry.-
- The caretakers live on the estate for any support during your stay.
- Extra cleaning or cooking can be arranged during your stay (for an additional fee).
- Airport transfer is available with pick-up at the airport although it does need to be booked in advance. Prices will vary depending on the number of passengers.

ABOUT MORGADO DO QUINTAO

Morgado do Quintão is a large, restored early 1800’s family-owned vineyard estate, located between the Silves, Monchique and Lagoa in the Algarve.

The estate was founded in 1810 by the count of Silves and is still in the possession of the family—and it’s a family story where a passion for the land, food and entertaining merges with a love of local heritage, beauty and conservation. In the last three years, the family has launched an award-winning wine brand which is now on sale in Michelin-starred restaurants in Portugal, the UK, France and the US and there are regular tastings and other events at the estate which guests can join. An artist-in-residency in program is also held yearly.

The Almond House stands proudly within a large vineyard estate, 5-min from the charm of Silves and 10-min to the award-winning beaches of Lagoa, like Marinha and Albandeira: the fact that it is located close to major highways also makes it very easy to get to from your daily beach trips and adventures. Within the property there are ancient olive trees, fig trees and plum trees (while you are here, feel free to pick some for yourself).

The property is set amidst a large working vineyard where grapes for our wine are grown. It is a fairly flat property so great for walking and jogging. It's close to supermarkets and farmer's markets and small towns with everything you'll need.

- Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting with Local Fare. Monday – Friday 4pm (35Eur pax);
Join us for an end of day tasting as we pour a variety of Morgado do Quintão wines. Enjoy an intimate 90 minute tour and tasting experience that explores the history of the estate, its unique terroir, and its exciting wines, while you savour a local artisan cheese and charcuterie selection.

- Join Our Farmers Table Lunch. Monday - Friday 1pm (55Eur per adult and 22,50 Eur per child);
We’ll gather under our 2000 year-old tree overlooking old Negramole vines, inside our vintage olive press or inside The Main House and share a simple but tasty 3-course menu paired with 3-4 wines. After the casual lunch, delight in the fascinating stories of Algarve’s landmark vineyard estate over coffee or as you stroll the property in the presence of our resident vineyard manager.

- A Bottle of Sparkling, Oysters and Sunset. Monday – Friday (Time depending on time of year) (55 Eur pax);
Join us for an afternoon experience of local oysters from Ria de Alvor and our very own & special sparkling wine made from Negramole grapes while watching the sun go down on the legendary vines of Morgado do Quintão.

- Dinner at the Vineyard. Monday – Friday 7pm (55Eur per adult and 22,50 Eur per child);
Dine with us in the comfort and warmth of the Main House. Share a simple but comforting menu accompanied by four of our wines. Get to know the ancient and authentic stories of this historic farm in the Algarve.

- Our Massage Offering. Monday - Friday (Pricing dependant on treatment)
