Casa Museu, a unique gem in the heart of Lagos
Casa Museu:
A truly amazing find and a gem, in the heart of Lagos. Its location lends the name to this four bedroom town house as just a couple of doors down is the 'Igreja do Santo Antonio' - no longer a functioning church , it is a museum which along with its goldenbaroque chapel, is one of the historical monuments you must see when visiting Lagos
As with so many houses in Lagos, the curb side impression of the house does not prepare you for what you will find inside. Decorated with love, using a mixture of eclectic modern and vintage pieces and with both Portuguese and Scandinavian influences, you might well feel like you have walked into a photoshoot for a House
Garden magazine.
The main entrance with striking black and white tiles which are a feature throughout the ground floor, has several steps leading to:A large living room with 3 double glazed windows looks onto the street is both beautiful and homely. There are the modern essentials of course including internet and TV.
The kitchen, with floor to ceiling fitted cupboards along one wall, has patio windows along the other wall opening out to a mature garden. There is a kitchen dining table and a large range cooker along with all modern appliances.
The garden is on 2 levels, with a tiled seating area under the tree as you walk out of the kitchen. There is also a WC
utility room out there. On the upper level is a dining area, BBQ and outside sink.
Also on this ground floor, the 4th bedroom which is a single bedroom with patio doors to the garden, to sleep 1 person. plus a bathroom with shower and WC.
A wooden staircase leads to the first floor and light streams in from the large window with more views of the delightful garden. There are 3 double bedrooms on this floor, all with Double glazing and A/C
The master bedroom features a double bed, ensuite shower room and patio doors out to the south east facing balcony terrace which overlooks the Iconic church tower.
The 2nd “pink” double bedroom has access to the same balcony which has seating at each end and is decorated with tasteful Portuguese tiles. There is an electric awning in case you want to sit out.
The 3rd “Black” bedroom has a Juliet balcony, patio doors and overlooks the garden.
The owners are leaving the house fully equipped, and hope that you will love it as much as they do, but ask that you are both respectful and responsible of their possessions, and love the location and Lagos as much as they do.
