Switched locations
Property was fine. Host waited until I was trying to check in to tell me she was switching properties because my wife had a guide dog. This is illegal and we could have asked law enforcement to get involved but chose not to. She said she has a dog on property we booked and could not have my wife's Guide dog on property. I have no clue what that has to do with it but she moved us to location 8 miles away on major thoroughfare not safe to walk anywhere and nothing in walking distance from unit. Reason we booked this was because it was where we had event and wanted to walk to event and go to diner and shop in Downtown Lake Worth. This forced us to drive and park for event and dinner. It was only one night so chose to not make a big deal about the switched location even though we were very unhappy about it and her excuse if true was illegal. As a host it is your responsibility to know law regarding Service animals, what you can ask to determine it is indeed a service animal and not a pet or emotional support animal that are not covered under law. I would be happy to educate this host on this issue as it it covered under Fl State statutes and Federal statutes. I did inform host when I booked property that we would be traveling with a service animal even though there is no requirement to do so under law. I did it as a matter of courtesy as she showed property as no pets and did not want any misunderstandings. She did not respond to me until we were inroute to property. I did not see message about different location until I was at property trying to check in. I had to call host to get reason we were not given check in info and she wanted to move us to different location.
