This medieval town is strategically located on a rock above the river Dronne. The charming wooden balconies of the old stone houses and the maze of small streets, enhance the picturesque character of this village.

A huge chalk cliff houses Europe's largest underground church. Carved out during the Middle Ages, the church (Saint Jean, 11 th century) is no less than 20 metres high. Apart from this underground church, above ground, there is the collegiate church of Saint Jaques, and numerous chapels and monasteries.
