Great staff, nice room, good breakfast with a pool and gym on site and a lovely beach 7 minutes walk away. We have stayed in 3 different hotels in Cebu on this trip and this one is the best. Didn’t have dinner here as we thought the choice of wine overpriced and menu limited.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. When I arrived on February 14, they did not have a room available for me despite my confirmed reservation. There was zero communication prior to my arrival indicating there would be any issue, and I was completely blindsided at check-in. When I entered the lobby, there was already a large crowd of other guests in the exact same situation — at least 50+ people waiting without rooms. It was clear this was not an isolated mistake but a major breakdown in planning and communication. The staff was dismissive and made the situation feel like it was somehow my fault. Instead of taking the time to properly explain what happened or offer a sincere solution, they rushed my group out and hurried us through any questions we tried to ask. We were told our entire group would be accommodated elsewhere, which turned out not to be true, creating even more stress and confusion. What is especially frustrating is that there continues to be zero communication even now. There has been no follow-up, no accountability, and no effort to properly address what happened. Overall, the lack of communication, poor handling of the situation, and dismissive attitude from staff made this an extremely upsetting experience. I would not recommend staying here based on how this was handled

The Hotel had great views on Travelocity. On google maps not so good. Here’s whatever experienced on our stay. Location is great. Lots of places to eat in the area. Very clean and safe at night in the New Mactan area. Outside the area in the day it was fine at night I wouldn’t let my girlfriend walk alone. The hotel was great. Any bad experiences that were written prior have been remedied since it became a Mercure hotel. The staff were amazing. Front desk had at least 6 people there to check in and out. Jay-R was the doorman he was awesome always got us a cab or a Grab. Super helpful and a good guy for sure. The hotel room was spacious, pretty basic but a nice big bed, the ac was very cold. The water temp could have been hotter but it was warm enough to fog the mirror in the bathroom. The buffet had a good selection of local and continental dishes. Fresh and well stocked. The gym had a lot of equipment and the pool was not too big but it was enough. There was also a steam bath and a sauna the guests could use for free. We didn’t go to the beach or use the spa we went outside the area for that. Overall it was a great experience no complaints and if we visit Cebu again we would definitely stay at the Mercure Hotel again.

Room a/c thermostat doesn’t work, so it gets very cold. Bathroom is small, dark (poor lighting) some fixtures are broken (e.g., shower head, toilet paper holder). The gym/pool area has dirty restrooms. Food/drinks are pricey. The only redeeming feature is access to the beach resort, which is nice. Overall, not worth the cost. Definitely not a Mercure standard…

The hotel is run down. Some windows are boarded. The rooms are small and smell. The front desk is not friendly or helpful. I checked out two days early. Hotel is not on the beach. You have to take a shuttle. Do not recommend.
