I've been coming to Las Vegas for about 38 years now and I've stayed in most of the hotels on the strip and off the strip at least once. This time I decided to try Rio for the first time. I must tell you I can't express my extreme disappointment in how my one-night stay went. It feels like this hotel is nothing but a giant scam. I arrived at the hotel at 2:30 PM on a Tuesday. When I got to the front desk to check in, they told me that the check-in time is 4:00 and if I wanted to check in now it would be an extra $10 for early check-in. Since my option was to either pay the $10 or spend the next 90 minutes sitting on my luggage in the lobby I decided to pay $10 and accept the shakedown. I go to my room to take a shower and find out the shower doesn't work. The handle on the shower was frozen in one position couldn't be turned on or off. I called down to the front desk and received an answer from an AI robot. Which kept asking me what I needed and what my problem was, I told them I'd have a meeting going on shortly and the shower is not working, and I need it fixed immediately. They told me that it would take an hour to get somebody up in my room to look at it. I asked to speak to the general manager or anybody at the front desk and they told me that the front desk and the general manager do not answer telephones and I'd have to handle everything through Rita the AI bot. I ended up using the shampoo container to bang on the shower faucet to get it to work. A maintenance worker

Premium suite was excellent. Room was recently renovated, had a mini bar area, 2 bathrooms, separate bedroom area, living room and dining area with an incredible view! The space made our down time very special! I did bring a kettle and instant coffee as there is no coffee maker in the rooms. Vegas style 🙈$$$ that’s my only complaint for improvement.
