## Emplacement
A distinct identity, a renowned seaside resort, Le Barcaris has everything to seduce. Surrounded by a pond and the sea, this strip of land was abandoned until the seventeenth century. It was then that a fishing village settled there and a few decades later, Le Barcaris has an important fishing port, and even shipyards where the famous Catalan boat is built. In the 60s, real estate developers put a low hand on the coast and made Barcars a famous seaside resort with the symbol Le Lydia, stranded on its beaches. This liner, today converted into a museum, disco and restaurant, is the fourth oldest liner in existence in the world. The neighborhoods always have a special character and you will like to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of each. From the old village to the Grande Plage, from the Lido to the Port, the atmospheres change and give Barcaris a unique stamp.
