The staff was nice with the exception of the blonde receptionist who was extremely rude and unprofessional. She acted irritated when we first arrived and asked a few questions about check in and what she recommended in the area. The bathroom was dirty but the location was great and the room was small but charming.

Location matters!

The location is amazing. You should always stay overnight on the Mont—all the magic happens after most tourists leave. The staff here are lovely; our room was tiny and pretty basic, but clean. In the end, it’s about the location!

Our room was great. The stairs to the extra beds were a little scary coming down and the bathtub had no mat to prevent slipping. But other than that the room was fantastic. I loved all of it

Great way to fully experience the history

Perfectly adequate to be truly immersed in the Mont Saint Michel experience. Accommodation is small as you must expect from the age of the buildings in the village. It’s extremely quiet on the Mont in the evenings and many restaurants were closed, but the food at the hotel was good

We followed Rick Steves advice, and got there at 4 pm, watching the hordes of day tripers leave, and stayed the night. Saint Pierre was very convenient, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and quiet. You can eat right there. Staff was helpfull, but needs more up to date info on public bus to Pontorson, which actally leaves about 200 meters from the gate.

While this is an older hotel it was so nice to stay on the island. The hotel has a back door to the ramparts which makes it easy to move around. It was an incredible experience to be there when all the crowds left and to see the abbey by sunrise. We did the 1st tour of the abbey in the morning so missed all the crowds. The hotel has a nice restaurant. I would recommend staying here. It does get a bit noisy in the early morning when the deliveries are being made but it motivated us to get up early, see sunrise and go to 7am mass.
