Pleasure trip for wedding attendance

Hotel is in serious need of renovation. Access door ("B") would not close/lock (walk right in), room only had one plug available accessible under a table desk (had to unplug the microwave to have a plug to use), dead bugs/spiders in room, live bugs/spiders seen daily, room floor tiles separated, poor noise insulation between rooms/shower noise, lamp shades and blackout curtains had age cracks/chips, though painted over obvious to see multiple dry wall repairs in room & bath, hallway carpets grungy, bath tub had no stopper, mold (minor) in bathtub sealant, poor/non-existent walkability area & you had to drive around a 2 mile block to get back to the hotel entrance driveway (potholed). Did not use restaurant but not open for breakfast to my knowledge. Front desk & housekeeping staff & service were friendly & helpful, good shower pressure, many restaurant choices within a few miles drive, many vineyards within 30 min drive, movie theater nearby.

The check-in staff had no personality . The hotel looked like it was abandoned. The outside was unkept and has trash. The inside smelled like curry that it infiltrated into our clothes . After a long day we came back to a room that had water all over the floor because of a leak at the window ( there was a long thunderstorm). We had to be moved to another room at 10 at night. That room after checking in , we discovered the toilet was clogged and could not be used The phones in the rooms for direct contact to the front desk did not work. We used our cells to call about the toilet - they said we will give you a “tool” to use to unclog the toilet. We waited 45 minutes for the plunger which we had to make work… ugh. The positive would be the ladies who presented the breakfast were delightful However I would never recommend this place to anyone. I wish I could be compensated for the situations we had to endure.

Pleasantly surprised

The overall building exterior was not up to par so when we pulled up we had our doubts about our booking, but the entrance and lobby were very nice and up to date, the desk clerk was friendly, helpful and efficient, our room was very clean and comfortable (great bed) and the bathroom setup was more than acceptable, particularly the shower & the sink setup; the on-site restaurant/lounge was delightful with a great bar-order food menu (spring rolls were delicious and food ordered by others present looked good too), bright and spacious bar and lounge seating (see attached photo), friendly informative barkeeper. The included breakfast was well above average in that pretty restaurant/lounge setting. Even the hallway maze accessing the guestrooms, conference/banquet rooms, lobby, and restaurant/bar was interesting.

Building is poorly marked, difficult to see from road. No sign on exit of Rt 7 to identify Clarion. Went by 3 times off a very dangerous road. An excellent Hotel except finding it.

The curtains were falling down in our room, spider webs in the ceiling corners, spider found while in bed, gap around door to the hallway, workers showed up at 5am in the room across from ours and were remodeling thus making quite a bit of noise, TV reception appeared to be local air channels only (no cable). Thankfully we had to get up early so the 5am wakeup wasn't too bad.

Absolutely Do Not Stay Here!

I should have read the reviews because they were true! The facility was old dilapidated and looked condemned from tye outside. In the room the furniture was worn and broken. But that waa the BEST part of the experience! A friend and I book this room for a wine tour of Leesburg. Ages 45 and 53. We had a 2 queen room. You people in the adjacent room were loud and disturbing. Finially at 1am we had enough. Complained management multiple times. Fast forward cops were called. We chose to leave! Formal complaint registered! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT STAY HERE!!
