La Olga Apartment in a picturesque traditional mountain village
Welcome to our beloved Vournikas, a traditional Greek mountain village in the South of Lefkada. Our 2 bedroom apartment in Vournikas is situated close to the village tavern and accommodates up to 8 persons. Vasiliki Beach, Mikros Gialos Beach, Ammousa, Desimmi are just a short drive away. Sivros, Sivota Bay and Vassiliki (10-15 minutes drive) offer plenty of cafe bars and taverns. Nidri, 15-20 minutes drive away, offers a great variety of bars and restaurants as well as night life.
Vournikas is a quiet traditional mountain village located in the South of Lefkada. It's 300 metres above the sea level, hence the beautiful views over the green valleys and Vassiliki Bay. The local tavern is at the ground floor of the building and it serves excellent grill and Greek dishes. All the products are fresh and they come from the farms and gardens in our village, or the surrounding villages.
At a few minutes driving distance you will find the next traditional mountain village called Sivros with many bars and taverns. It's a great place to spend a quiet evening among locals and enjoy some local dishes and even some cocktails at a bar that recently opened.
Hop into the car, drive for about 15 minutes and arrive at the best beaches of the South Coast of Lefkada: Vassiliki Beach, Agiofili Beach, Ammousa Beach, Afteli Beach, Mikros Gialos Beach or Desimi Beach.
For the famous West Coast Beaches such as Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Gialos you need to drive for about 40 minutes. For Milos and Kathisma you need about 50 minutes by car. The roads on the West Coast are scenic, with beautiful views from up the mounting, so you will probably enjoy the ride.
There are 2 supermarkets 10 minutes by car: Benizelor and Nikos Supermarket. A basic shop is also a few metres away from the apartment in Vournikas. Another mini market is in Sivros, the next village.
