With a taverna and minimarket within walking distance and just a ten minute drive from lovely Poros beach, Melodia is a delightful, wonderfully appointed cottage in a quintessentially Greek location. From the picturesque pool and terraces there are eye-catching rural views to enjoy across the adjacent valley and rolling verdant hills.
Open plan by design, the ground floor is welcoming and well proportioned with comfortable seating to one side and a fitted kitchen/diner on the other. Cooling ceramic floor tiles and a vaulted beamed ceiling complement this area with polished wooden floorboards and further beams adding character to the comfortable bedroom. Both the living area and bedroom are air conditioned.

Outside, appealing to swimmers and non-swimmers alike, corner Roman steps access Melodia’s appealing private pool with the adjacent terraces, furnished with comfortable sun loungers and ideally positioned to take full advantage of the pretty, rural view.

Just a short walk uphill from Melodia the sleepy little town of Fterno is virtually untouched by tourism. Having a minimarket for essentials and a well reputed taverna (plus a further taverna but with somewhat erratic opening days!) within a few hundred metres of the house means reliance on a car for shopping and dining is conveniently reduced.

South facing and fringed by lush vegetation, famously scenic Poros Beach (also known as Mikros Gialos) is just 9km away. Accessed via a narrow, winding approach road the striking contrast between the emerald green waters of the bay and glistening white pebbles of the shoreline make this a popular spot for snorkelling as well as a favoured pausing point for passing yachts. Here you will find a couple of local tavernas, a minimarket, sun beds/shades for rent and occasional water sports (tip: be sure to arrive early if you want to secure a spot in the small beachside car park).

The gently shelving sandy beach and waterside tavernas of Desimi are about a 15 minute drive as is Vlicho (8km) where several well stocked minimarkets and various excellent restaurants can be found. Widely renowned as a base for sailing, the coastal town of Nydri (13.5km) is home to comprehensive amenities with boat hire/day trips, fishing excursions and good ferry links to neighbouring islands all bookable around the harbour.
