The restaurant on site had great food on their menu, but the breakfast seemed to be the same every day. I stayed for 14 days and they never offered bacon. They did have a good variety of fruit. I booked my stayvat this hotel because the website stated and showed that they had a hot tub. I was very disappointed to find out that this was not the case. The area where the hotel was located was extremely noisy both during the day and all night long. I did not have a full night sleep for the entire 14 days. The location did provide me with the opportunity to get a good walk each day through the downtown. Unfortunately, the infrastructure is not very good, which make walking a risk. As well, it seems that a lot has changed since my last visit to the same hotel and to Liberia 2 years ago. Homeless people were sleeping on the streets and panhandling all over. The city itself is quite dirty. On a positive note, the staff of the hotel were great to talk to and get to know. Most of the people that i met in Liberia were pleasant, as well.

There was hair in the shower from previous guest. The shower head was moldy. Wait 12 hours for someone to open the toilet after falling multiple times to the point I had to get manager. Also was locked onto the property at night because the security went to do something and couldn’t get out. It’s really bad place. Do your self a favor, spend little more and book else where. Ooo also if you are there on weekend, good luck, there is a bar and club across the street with music blasting till 4-5 am. Wish I can post pics, would’ve seen how bad this place is.

Clean room, stiff beds, they came through in a pinch when our flight was cancelled. Book an uber or arrange your own taxi the airport, the front desk will push their $20 per person transport vs. an uber or taxi is about $15 for the group to the airport.

I had rented rooms here for years. I love the grounds. I love the staff. The problem is the beds and last time the sheets had giant holes in them. I felt disrespected. Especially after 10 years of loyalty. How can they not care about things so disturbing. At $100 a night they should do better.

Deceiving Listing — Not What I Expected I booked Best Western El Sitio Hotel in Liberia, Costa Rica through Expedia, and it was extremely deceiving. The photos make it look like a nice, comfortable hotel, but in reality, it feels more like a basic motel. This isn’t a place you’d want to stay for a long period of time. It’s more for travelers passing through or hotel-hopping who just need a cheap night’s stay. The beds were rock hard and uncomfortable. The property has the look of a hotel but none of the comfort. The breakfast was okay — not great, but edible. The location is convenient with several American restaurants nearby like Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Burger King, and KFC, plus a small shopping plaza. There’s also a “mall” about five minutes away, but it doesn’t really have clothing stores or much of anything. On the positive side, the staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and the place was very clean. Overall, it’s fine for a short stay, but definitely not somewhere I’d recommend for a longer vacation.
