Welcome to Blackbird Cottage, situated at the front of our breathtaking rural property. This charming, compact abode is separate from our main house and Willow Cottage, boasting its own entrance, driveway, and secure off-street parking. We are thrilled to welcome your furry friends and provide a secure, fenced area for them to frolic in. Please let us know about your pet by ticking the pet box, as we do charge a small fee per stay, and your pet must feel at ease around our livestock.

Although compact, 24m square, Blackbird Cottage is fully equipped with a complete kitchen, featuring a fridge, gas cooktop, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. (Under the kitchen sink is where we store your laundry liquid )We offer plunger coffee, a selection of organic teas, and snacks to enhance your stay.

The master bedroom is separated from the kitchen/living area by a charming barn door. Our ensuite boasts a high-pressure shower and a heated towel rail for cooler months. Please note there is no door between the bedroom and bathroom.
Our 24sqm cottage is thoughtfully designed and beautifully compact, offering a comfortable stay for singles or couples. Due to the smaller footprint, space can be limited if you are travelling with large suitcases.

To make your stay easier, we provide:
• Additional storage under the bed
• Two wardrobes for organised unpacking
• A secure, lockable outdoor storage area for larger suitcases
Please note: For one-night stays, storing luggage outside or managing larger bags may feel less convenient. We recommend smaller luggage where possible to ensure the most comfortable experience..

Our goal is to ensure your comfort, which is why we provide a heat pump/air con unit in the living area, an electric heater in the bedroom, and a Mitsubishi Electric Lossnay Single Room Ventilation System that offers energy recovery ventilation.

You`ll discover ample storage for your luggage and belongings to keep your space tidy and uncluttered. You are welcome to store your bikes, dog crates, suitcases, and more in our secure storage shed.

Blackbird Cottage is exquisitely decorated to a high standard, providing warmth, comfort, and stunning views of the evening sunset. It is a serene and peaceful haven that you`ll fall in love with.

As an extra touch, we have prepared some complimentary snacks and drinks for you to enjoy upon your arrival. We understand the importance of having a little something to nibble following a long journey.

We also understand the significance of having the perfect cup of tea or coffee after a tiring day of travel. That`s why we offer an assortment of tea and coffee options. Let us know your milk preference ahead of time, and we`ll make sure it`s in the fridge waiting for you. We happily accommodate all milk preferences, whether it`s oat milk or almond milk.

Blackbird Bird Cottage has the best of both worlds, sitting on a beautiful 4-hectare block yet only 2 minutes` drive from Lincoln Township for a morning espresso.
Located, a 2-minute drive to the start of the bike track to Little River.

You will need to drive into Lincoln, Tai Tapu, but we do have bikes on request for an additional charge.

Travel plans can often be disrupted by unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, bereavement, injury, or unfavourable weather conditions. To safeguard your travel investment, it is highly recommended to purchase travel insurance, regardless of whether you are travelling domestically or internationally.
🚭 Strictly no smoking or vaping anywhere on the property
This includes indoors, outdoors, gardens, verandas, driveways, and near doors or windows.

Breach of this rule may result in immediate termination of the stay with no refund.


Only the number of guests confirmed on the booking are allowed to stay at the cottage. Maximum occupancy two paying guests.

Weddings: While we love being located near beautiful wedding venues, the cottage is not suitable for wedding parties to use as a getting-ready space or for pre-wedding gatherings. Bookings made for this purpose cannot be accommodated. We are delighted to welcome the bride and groom for a peaceful stay following their ceremony.


PLEASE ONLY SMALL AMOUNTS OF TOILET PAPER DOWN THE LOO, NO OTHER PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY FACE WIPES, EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY ARE BIODEGRADABLE.

Approved dogs are welcome through our Airbnb listing or via booking direct. Please keep dogs off our furniture and beds and do not let them run freely outside of Blackbird`s fenced area.

Guests are responsible for any damages of excessive cleaning required during their stay. Costs for such damages or unreasonable cleaning will be charged and pursed through the appropriate booking platform.

Please treat this like your home! We ask that all dishes be loaded into the dishwasher and trash/recycling taken out to the bins before leaving.
Please leave the cottage the way you found it.

Check-out is by 10am. Please note that late checkouts are not available during the busy summer months or once your stay has commenced.

As a guest of this cottage, you'll find a garden and laundry facilities. The front desk is open around the clock.
