A walk up to the castle is a must as from here you enjoy the views out across the town to the neighbouring River Bran. After a day spent walking through the beautiful countryside there are many cafés, tea rooms, delis and patisseries for you to relax in. Not to be missed is the annual Sheep Festival which is held every September and celebrates droving, sheep farming and the wool industry. Llandovery is in a fantastic location with something to suit everyone on the doorstep. The village of Llandeilo, a twenty-minute drive away, is a pretty market town with a lovely selection of unusual gift shops, eating places and pubs, whilst visits to the medieval Dinefwr and Carreg Cennen Castles add to the charm. Nearby, explore the ruins of Talley Abbey, The National Botanic Garden Of Wales, an array of historic castles, plus a large selection of beautiful sandy beaches and the famous coastal path all within comfortable driving distances.
