Set in a peaceful rural location overlooking fields it is the perfect retreat with a picturesque 15 minute walk to the pretty village of Lochmaben. The Castle Loch walk can be accessed by turning right out of the courtyard and is ideal for walks with children and dogs. The house is ideally situated for exploring, with handy transport links. Hop on a train from nearby Lockerbie and you can be in Edinburgh or Glasgow in an hour. With its golden, sweeping beaches, rugged forests, pretty coastal villages and historic houses and castles Dumfries and Galloway is an often overlooked treasure that is well worth exploring. When the sun is shining there are lovely walks taking in the stunning scenery, alongside world class mountain bike trails and nature reserves of international importance, due to the bird species they attract. Even in poorer weather there’s still a multitude of things to enjoy from Robert Burns’ house, the Camera Obscura, and the Annandale Distillery.Beach 15 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Wow! what a weekend we had in this lovely little farm house! So well kept & had everything you could possibly need. Everything is a close drive away, lots of lovely walks to go on and things to explore. unfortunately 3 days just isnt enough to see it all so makesure you book a week( or more) We will definitely be back again, cant thank Allison enough for being such a wonderful host❤️

Very special week at this new property on the holiday let market. Fantastic attention to detail: things to do in the evening in the sitting room. A well stocked kitchen we could actually bake birthday cake in - first time that has happened! Easy to operate heating for chilly mornings and quick effect in a big house.
