Booked at short notice, I phoned and explained I would be arriving on the 22:35 train. Walked around the corner and they welcomed me by name.
And the breakfast - amazing!!!!!
Arrived off the cuff without table reservations on New Year’s Eve and the owner and staff went above and beyond to make our stay the best we also had a dog with us and she was truly spoilt .. The food was fantastic I truly recommend this place to stay especially if your a dog owner nothing is a problem the place is fantastic ❤️❤️❤️ Happy new year guys and gals hopefully see you on our way back home in march Michelle Dave and Darcy 🐶
The hotel is quite nice but theirs a few issues. The hotel is way too noisy at night, the dining options are a little confusing and the staff seemed a little puzzled about what to be doing.

Had a lovely stay staff are very professional and helpful bed comfortable and breakfast was amazing very tasty
Very good in-town Victorian hotel. Rooms recently refurbished to a high standard. Google maps tells me this is a two star hotel, but it's much better than that. I'd give it 3 1/2 or even 4. Food is good too with an emphasis on local sourcing. Inevitably, some road noise for rooms to the front.
Slight mix up on checking in, was given the wrong room a single when I had book a double, soon rectified. The room was quite small & very tired looking badly in need on an update. There must have been a gutter leaking as I was woken up by trickling water - The shower was very poor.
The breakfast was very good.
Very good accommodation, choices of bar and lounges, immaculate decor, airy and welcoming, super-friendly staff. I had a very nice single room with a massive ensuite shower room in sparkling condition. Had 2 nights there on my way to and from Stornoway. Super breakfasts to order, and also lucky enough to be there on a Sunday for their really excellent Sunday Roast Carvery. Ryan goes out of his way to ensure everyone has a good experience, and his team are amazing! Will certainly stay again.
Very friendly, personable staff. Rooms spacious and clean and location was quiet but convenient. Ted the resident dog was lovely and our old dog was made to feel right at home as was out son. Would recommend for families and dog owners.
