Porto Recanati, the northernmost coastal town in the province of Macerata, boasts a central strip of both stony and sandy beaches along a steep sea. Located near Monte Conero, the flat terrain is perfect for seafront walks, making it ideal for family tourism. The area features modern bathing establishments, children's playgrounds, water sports opportunities, and three cycling paths, making it a popular seaside destination in the Marche region.
The seafaring tradition of Porto Recanati is showcased in the Museo del Mare, situated in the former fish market complex. To the south lies the archaeological area of the Roman city Potentia, with the remains of the 12th-century Abbey of Santa Maria in Potenza. The Scossicci valley houses the church of the Banderuola, associated with the tradition of the Holy House.
