I was moving back to SoCal from Washington for a new job, exhausted from the drive and a little anxious about starting over, and Motel 6 in Thousand Oaks ended up feeling like my first “welcome home” instead of just a place to crash for the night. From the moment I checked in, Sara and Conor greeted me like they were genuinely happy I was there, not just another reservation in the system, and took the time to ask about my move and how the drive had been. Conor noticed how much stuff I had packed into my car and helped me figure out the easiest way to get everything to the room, checking in later to make sure I had what I needed and that the room was quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. Mindy rounded it out by treating every interaction whether it was a quick question at the front desk or grabbing a fresh set of towels: as if I were a long‑time regular, not a one‑night guest passing through. What really stood out was how the four of them together created a calm, friendly atmosphere at a time when everything in my life felt up in the air; they turned a basic motel stay into a moment where I could breathe, regroup, and actually feel excited about this next chapter. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I needed, but it was their kindness, conversation, and genuine interest in my move that made it feel like more than just a hotel it felt like the first little piece of home on my way back to Southern California.

Average motel. Front desk person was was professional & friendly at check-in. Room itself was just a place to sleep for one night. Room had no heat. Front desk provided extra blankets. Tub & toilet seemed cleaned. Light switches and floor not sure if dirty or just stained. Outside premises well kept. Laundry room was accessible with washer & dryers. Close to restaurants, gas station & freeway. Would I stay again? If I was passing thru and needed a place for the night, sure.
